...it seems that another Nobel Peace Prize may be in order as the US/UN Invasion of Syria has now begun in earnest. What dribble will we hear from the Ministry of Truth ? One would have thought the revelations that Snowdon made would have been more than enough to cause restraint but we are not dealing with the easily embarrassed are we ?

Unfortunately, it would seem most Americans are no better informed than you are about world events. Decent people would be outraged to know what injustices are happening in their name. As long as people do not make an effort to understand, it will continue on unabated.

That is an appropriate over simplification suitable only for propaganda to shape already poorly informed public opinion to favor an invasion of Syria. But not very informing of the larger picture ..

I do not like Assad, but I do not believe sending arms or troops to the rebels will fix the problem of the humanitarian suffering nor bring peace or real democracy. Look at the results we brought to Iraq or Libya, Afghanistan etc. ... daily car bombs killing hundreds every week. Life was never that bad even under a Saddam or Gaddafi .. unless you got on their schit list. Al Qaeda shows up wherever we do .. just like a shadow or mirror image.

We would be wiser to keep an eye on where we are headed ourselves.
Consider what could develop here in the USA with the stuff of stories like these ...
(not to even mention what Snowden and Manning have been telling us.)
