Dane Ellis Allen wrote:the previous post was not intended as an insult with the "fat and one-eyed" remark .. I heard that somewhere on these boards and every thing I take as gospel on these boards so it has to be true..

That thread was so wild, that I got disoriented and actually thought I was responding to Haley.
"I call that bold talk for a one-eyed fat man" is a line that Robert Duval says in True Grit.

Neither one of them are one-eyed (that I know of), and Paper apparently didn't catch the reference - or if he did, didn't care.

But oh well that ends. Well?

Just so everyone is aware... This site is being monitored by SOME ENTITY.

Any thing you have posted before has permanently been preserved.

It actually has slowed down a bit in the past 2 years, and I can't point a finger at any one source. However, I am using a Macbook. There were way to many times, that I found my battery drained the next morning when I wasn't using my computer.

I'm no computer geek. But.. Since I have been disconnecting all online connections when I am done... This has never happened again.

Any body have any reasonable answers? G.

1) Firewall
2) Shut down your computer when you aren't using it.

Facebook and Google (amongst many sites) are monitoring your every move.
No one is 'using' your computer for other purposes unless you have got a trojan virus.
This past week, there has been something attacking yahoo email addresses, my wife got it (typical sending out of 'emails' with links to commercial sites, which probably then infect anyone looking at them) and I saw a ton of people posting in Yahoo groups and on FB last night about it.

Run "repair permissions" on your hard disc. I had some runaway searches that slowed my Mac and killed my batt, and that fixed it.
