Hey dawg,

Discussion groups are made for heated debate where no one gets hurt by the keystrokes. So you lost your cool on one thread? Big deal?

Take a breather, go away for a while if you must, but there's no reason to say "never again" in this case.

auf weidersehen! ( see ya later )

I will miss your posts PaperDog, even though I could not agree with you most of the time, you still gave logical and concise reason)s as to why you posted the stuff you did.. just because you have a different outlook about how the world should be compared to others should not be the reason you leave.. i always liked your posts for the most part, it made me think more deeply if I was able to conceptualize it.. but I'm a shallow thinker mostly..

well gee... deadgtrs, why doncha help him pack????

seems like the natural order of things around here. people come and go and come and go only to return later...or not.

i suppose that's true of a lot of forums but i notice it much less in the ones where the discussion is kept mostly to music and mostly kept civil w/o personal attacks.

just saying, and not judging since i've been plenty guilty of being involved in more than a few border skirmishes here myself.

I always get cracked up when someone makes the big announcement on a site such as this that they are leaving.

Whats up with that?

Ive been here a while, but if I decided not to come back I think I would just fade away.

Personally I never had any issues that Im aware of with Dawg. The only person in a long time on here who kinda got under my skin was Lynard. But even that didnt bother me that much, hell you cant take anything personal on the net. Ive seen a bunch of people thru the years who get all pumped up and saying what they will do to you, and when I met some of these people, they werent quite what they represented themselves as online. Hell Im sure I blow my image up quite a bit, compared to real life.

I just think its good to have mutual respect for a fellow musician, no matter what level they play at, or how much they gig, or how many recordings they have. And also repect them for thier opinions on things in general.

To me its fine to bash someone, as long as its respectful, but when it gets to the little child like things, it just takes away some of persons credilbility to me.

Most people leave because they embarassed themselves ....
And as far as announcing it, it's like publishing a suicide note before doing the act - the person wants others to say 'don't'.

Mike you are getting into some deep psychological analysis there.. but agree, but if they are anonymous for the most part, how can they be embarrassed? they could only be embarrassed if we literally knew who they were walking down the street or something?.. photos as avatars can be faked so we truly do not know what PaperDog would look like? other than he's fat and one eyed?

the previous post was not intended as an insult with the "fat and one-eyed" remark .. I heard that somewhere on these boards and every thing I take as gospel on these boards so it has to be true..

I'm not a psychologist, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express once!
It was outside Detroit, and a real dive! A/C stopped working 1st night, luckily I was only there for 2 nights!

Even as a troll, an anonymous entity, I would feel embarrassed to embroil myself into such debased exchanges as recorded by this thread.

Having a real face photo, full name, town and venue where he hosts an open mic etc., not to mention potential future IT clients probing who may wonder what sort of wisdom their consultant has shared online with others ....
If your skin is that thick you might as well become a politician
