I wonder if participation in Bandmix is waning? Is it my imagination or...
A) less people participating on the forum
B) Less "new musicians in your area" notices
C) Less "musicians viewing your profile."

It could simply be my imagination or a by-product of the lousy economy. It's hard for me to get enthused about low paying gigs. I'd rather stay home.

Valid questions, but maybe its a seasonal thing (as most people on these forums are from North America) - better weather, more time to do things oather than hang out on the web.

Bob I think you are overthinking it! LOL!

Its just the normal ebb and flow of things, plus like was said, its summer time, and there are way more things to do than just sit on a site like this.

Hopefully some like you are actually out playing music, Im kinda retired at the moment, myself.

1) anyone posting on this forum is berated if they have no music posted
2) female musicians are run off time and again
3) old conservatives think they run the joint, which is offensive to most musicians
4) a lot of people think they want to be musicians, until they find out how much work it is

Hey, I was new here once, now look at how many posts I have.
If someone doesn't have thick enough skin to survive the written abuse here, they are unlikely to have real success in the day-to-day non-professional music world.

I qualified it ("non-profession") because at that level, you may be shielded from the abuse (how many pros - and I mean the people whose albums you buy, etc - do you know that visit forums like this?)

i disagree. they might have to take the typical disrespect, apathy, and lack of courtesy from bar owners, bookers, and indifferent audiences.... but they DON'T have to take abuse on a music forum.

exactly what i'm saying. no need to hang around for the abuse if they're not of that mindset.
