A friend of mine has asked me to help her make some cool and interesting music videos for her songs and I just wanted to know what people thought of them and if they had any suggestions for how we could improve?
She wants me to make something really memorable which I definitely haven't done yet so I'd love to get some advice and get my creative juices flowing.

Here's one we uploaded the other day, what do you think?

I find it odd to see a drummer playing a kit but I don't hear drums... or a singer wearing headphones at a mic but not singing what I'm hearing at any point in the video. So there's not even any performance shots... That leaves the candid shots around the studio while recording... but there's too much of it.
If all they want is a visual diary of their time hanging out at a studio... it's fine. But there is no story here.... just a band that recorded a song.
No flow or feel as if it's in-sync with the music or theme. jmo. I'm sure you'll get others. It's a pretty decent song.
Good Luck to you Will.

I concur with Jahva...

1) Synch Player with rythm of instrument
2) Synch singer with lip of verse.

Each shot should be 4 seconds of necessary precsion...which would make a world of difference.

This vid lacks any particular theme or story line...and so, it falls flat.

The particular style of music doesn't lend to much visual opportunity-of-dynamic SO you should not expect a spell-binding result for the video.

However, the song might prove to be an excellent narrative for a pastoral image. Find some static props, and choreograph a sequence of show & tell. Focuse on subtle visual effects around the props...

Just my own thoughts

Well,I guess you got your opinions ok.I have to agree with all of them.Is this video meant to sell the performer or the song.If both I would frame the video around the meaning of the song doing a video around the recording, bad idea.

Like others have already said - the video doesn't seem to be the same song at all - the song is guitar and singer, yet we see bass, drums, etc etc. Get rid of the food table shots completely. Unless the dog is part of the story, get rid of those shots, too. Seems to be mix of home and studio stuff, just doesn't work.
