I've discovered that many many guitarists from the 60's were monster players that would put many of our later "guitar gods" to shame. The difference is that they found the music to be more important than showing off their phat skillz.

I like Lindsay, he's a good player but I would take Jorma over him anyday. Here he is playing finger-style on an electric.

I think your correct in what yousaid kramer about the guitarist of the 60's.I think they where more full chord learners rather than power chord learners.The were taught the 7th's and 9th's which makes a big difference sometimes.I don't know does that make sense.I wa surprised that you compared one player with another tho,considering differences in style of playing.Oh well don't want to take anything away from buchingham.

Speaking of great acoustic performers, these guys took traditional acoustic instruments in the 70s and created a genre of their own. Fusion jazz bluegrass....who would have thunk it?

New Grass Revival was to bluegrass what Jeff Beck is to fusion jazz/rock.

I saw that. He was really better associated with Jefferson Airplane, I know he helped form Hot Tuna but drummer Bob Steeler was the main Tuna drummer in the 70's. RIP Joey
