Talk to the guys who were there . . . the GC was and still is, a big joke.

Thinking about it... I do take offense... It occurs to me that you think less of those who didn't see the bloodshed first hand. I guess that makes them less of a serviceman in your eyes? Wow!

Me Personally, I didn't kill people while I served. I didn't see people getting killed while I served. I saw some atrocity, for simply standing in other countries, beyond that ...no' action' to appease your sense of 'badass' .

But I availed myself to the same aspect of my service to my country that the other vets did... I came home with both of my legs. Does that make me 'less worthy" in your eyes?

I wonder if the vets, whom you treated, think I was any less of a service man, for giving a full decade of my life to my Country during a peace-time military, when clearly I didn't have to.

I don't go to the bars VFWs and brag about my service. I don't spin yarns to make my self look like a bad-ass. But , I have colleagues that would twist your soul with what they have done in war. They don't really talk about it, because they don't feel compelled to prove anything by it.

As for us 'less than' service members. No need for any apologies, or for that matter any thanks.
We did what we did, and people slept better for it...and that's all she wrote.

You now put words in my mouth ?
You think the "atrocities" of Nam were "worse" that all previous wars ?

Seriously ?

I apologize.
I thought we were having an intelligent conversation.

"War is a racket. It always has been. It is possibly the oldest, easily the most profitable, surely the most vicious. It is the only one international in scope. It is the only one in which the profits are reckoned in dollars and the losses in lives. A racket is best described, I believe, as something that is not what it seems to the majority of the people. Only a small 'inside' group knows what it is about. It is conducted for the benefit of the very few, at the expense of the very many. Out of war a few people make huge fortunes."
