I'd guess if your guy's living relied on outside contractor IT work with the 80th Civil Affairs And Psychological Operations Unit, you might tend to see the world a little more like someone from El Paso.

OK Vinny, I'll bite. Why do you distract and distort , and compare, point in completely different directions the movement of a entire nation... From some one that has no belief in God except when it becomes a convenient argument.
If you wish to continue such ridiculous arguments...
Please back them up and...
Acknowledge a higher presence.

I do tend to think there is a higher intelligent presence underpinning the all the universe.
I do not believe the "God" of the old testament is that intelligent presence. Yahweh comes off like a vengeful two bit tribal volcano deity, a cheap imposter.
As Yod has pointed out (referring, of course to the Koran) the seeds of latent misinterpretation are sown in the old testament. I would not be too surprised if those raids on the Canaanites get used as scriptural precedents for ethnic cleansing of Muslims.
We already have a true believer (who feels that he could have been a prolific "assassin", even though his expressed personal rather than political motive would more accurately classify him as a slightly less glamorous, potential serial murderer) on this board here getting all sentimental over that poor misunderstood Milosevic.
Not being chained to a set of "unchallengeable" beliefs and fear, allows me the FREEDOM to think.

Then do you believe in the God of the New Testament? The God who says Love your enemy? The God who says to love your brother as yourself? The Old and New testaments show both sides of a living God.
The Old Testament displays Gods vengeance for His own creation that rejects Him and His statutes, the New Testament displays Gods love for his creation who accept Him and his statutes. Does a living God not have the right to decide the fate of His own creation? Or should God accept the created who put themselves above God and even deny His existence?
If you were the creator, how would you feel towards your creation if it rejected you, disobeyed your statutes, and denied your existence?

The Muslims I know deplore the extremists, as all good people should. There are fanatics in every group, but by far most of the group are normal, hard-working people.
Would you like it if you met a foreigner who said "oh you're an American, you must be like Timothy McVeigh"?
