Well the trip from hell is over, I'm back home from an extensive vacation in Punta Cana. A lot of it sucked but today was the cherry on top. Upon arriving Miami at 9:15 this morning, I immediately noticed the numerous signs that stated that due to budget cutbacks (the sequester) to expect long delays. Okay, fine. The immigration man asked what I did for a living and then said there was a problem. I was put in a small room for a few minutes, then a larger room with lots of detained people. All were non-citizens except for me. I sat there for three hours and missed my connecting flight to Detroit. Finally they called me and said I was free to go get my luggage. When I asked what this was all about, he said he didn't know and to "Call Washington". It quickly became apparent that this was a political game the immigration department and the government was playing; if you don't like how you were treated call Washington and urge them to end the sequester. Yeah I get it now. The next flight to Detroit didn't leave until 8:15pm. So I had tickets to the symphony tonight that I missed, plus I spent a fortune at the airport waiting all day. I'm done with leaving this country for vacation, next year I'm going out west!

This is abuse of power on a scale never before seen in America...but worse...if you voted for this naked emperor, it is your doing.

The sequester was never meant to actually go into effect, it was supposed to make both sides negotiate in good faith and work together, but Congress sucks. Anyway, I posted a picture of the view from my room and a coral fossil I found, check it out.

Jimmy, that is not a good thing. Why the helll do you think I yell, when you don't go out of your way to protect your self. It sounds like you ran head long into a small amount of governmental abuse. Abuse against a law abiding, tax paying citizen.

The suckiest part of the vacation happened right here in the good old USA.

Yeah but our government still has enough money to pay for 1.5 billion rounds of stock piled ammo every year, billions in support for government backed green companies,(FAILURES), billions to send Brazil to drill off shore wells 4 times deeper than any rig in the gulf,(so we can become good oil customers), billions on free phones to non workers(unproductive citizens)billions to nations that not only hate us but back groups that actively try to kill us(Egypt) (Libya)(to name a few), Purchase targets depicting American citizens, stockpile plastic coffins, attempt American disarmament,AND PURCHASE 4 MILLION DOLLARS WORTH OF AMERICAN FLAGS... MADE IN CHINA!

No federal budget in how many YEARS????

...I thank you for putting up this thread and relating your "experiences" to us all. You have done an impressive thing and I commend you for it. Many on here may not agree always with you (or anyone else for that matter) but they all would agree i feel that you are intelligent and capable and that your heart is not Evil. relating your experiences carries a lot of weight because you are who you are and also this takes a degree of courage that perhaps some may not have.

"America" is in grave danger and that translates to all of us in the same manner regardless of our individual beliefs. Next year you may well not even be able to take a vacatione, let alone actually leave the country ...
