Spam posting on the wrong board???

You people need to act your age as well, instead of being acusatory, and jumping to conclusions. Also some you guys need to get a life, and learn when to not FURTHER upset someone who is already somewhat frustrated with "people".

I was NEVER spam posting on the "wrong" board. I put "wrong" in quotes because the places in question that I would post on were reccommended by other musicians, and originally did have the general type of musicians on them that i was trying to reach: individuals around my age who play music purely for enjoyment. But as I said, I never once got a chance to actually talk to the person about the suggestion and actually how to best use it to get the results I wanted. And half the time, in order to get a given person on a given board to shut up about the suggestion, I would usually try the suggestion just to prove him wrong.

See? Again! Saying it's ALL my fault and telling me that I should give in to what everybody else is into! I do NOT want to do what EVERYBODY else is doing. I want to find someone who's into the kind of music styles I enjoy, and find someone who will accept me for me, and vice versa.

A lot of the people who were initially interested I had to let go of due to them being a little too serious about playing music, and not simply playing music for enjoyment. My requests were not intended for the musicians that are currently playing out at bars or clubs, and who try to be hardcore rockers.

What is with you people? I was never acting like a 5 year old of any kind. You are the ones making a big deal out of nothing! This place was one of the places that was reccommended to me through several other sites.

Where do I have to go to reach people who are knowledgeable about some more appropriate places that I can try and start my search fresh? Places where I won't run into adults who treat me like disck?

The kind of responses I'm getting from you guys has happened way too often, even before people got annoyed with my posting. Heck, it even started happening for awhile to my PRINTED ad at Guitar Center. I would get calls from people who somehow set their number as "Restricted" thus preventing me from getting back to them if they called at an inappropriate time, like say while I was on summer vacation or visiting my sister all the way in New Hampshire during Christmas.

Also there were times when I couldn't get to my phone, and some people weren't smart enough to leave a message, and instead they'd go "Hello! Clifford?, instead of actually stating that they were responding to my request, and leaving a call back number.

Again, DON'T start! That is VERY trollish behavior and NOT befitting the type of people I'd like to talk to. The kind of thing you are doing is part of why I'm not making any progress. Rise above that behavior.

And don't call me a troll. My intention on ANY music site, or on any site I post on is to LEARN and make some good friends.

What do you mean, "exactly"? Are you trying to prove a point, or are you just making fun of the very thing I told you guys NOT to do from the very beginning?

I wouldn't have to repeat myself so much if most of the people on the given board would use common sense when answering a given question I have, while taking into consideration my goals as a musician, and looking at other things like my music tastes and such.

Again, what happened to the individuals who are much more relaxed, and who are willing to share their knowledge, and who talk about various places to make good solid connections. I have not once found such a place.

No matter where I post so far, my questions, or my direct requests reaches a bunch of trolls, and immature adults, some of which are VERY snooty and think that there genre is superior to another given genre. I am referring to both online AND physical real world places.

Cliche and NOT the full meaning of insanity. The ones who keep spitting out that phrase are the ones who are WAY too serious about playing music. The ones who are themselves insane and who are sheep, and just go with the crowd. The ones who only play music to impress their girlfriend or their wife by being bad ass rockers, or the older guys who are trying to relive the wild days of their 20s, rather than reaching someone who admits to playing a style that is not common amongst most guys, and who is a guy in college, but someone who doesn't give in to the usual things that college students do like going out to bars or clubs and getting drunk with friends.

Also that saying is coming across as very trollish. In fact, the only place where I haven't encountered that phrase was through direct responses to my Craigslist ad and through my Guitar Center post.

And also keep in mind that I would like to get OUT of this rut, and I've tried several different ways to do so. I've tried changing the wording of my ad to prevent people in bands from responding, but that just caused them to respond more.

Another way I've tried is by asking around to learn about a variety of other sites, and to talk to people more like myself who can refer me to some much more appropriate venues and websites. And instead, I get advice from people who are into heavy rock and metal, and who are bar hopping and club hopping musicians already out there playing gigs, and who come off as know-it-alls.
