Yeah, honestly the vocals are pretty rough..
However, there are some bright spots with it... the first being that even though he is in left field with it, at least he is very enthusiastic. Enthusiasm and energy from the singer definitely help spruce up a live show.
Another good thing is that he seems to be a cool dude and that you all are buds. THAT is often times not easy to find in a singer (sorry fellow vocalists, but that sh!t is true)

So basically, if you guys can get him to SING and not kinda shout off key, I think all would be well.

If you aren't sure on how to approach him about it and are scared he will be pissed, maybe show him this entire thread and the fact that you want to be constructive with him and not "bash" him.

It seems we talk about music on this forum about 10% of the time, but when we actually do, it is generally very helpful, genuine and friendly.

hmm I say to apply some basic logic to the problem. How many people really complain about the singer? How many people tell you guys that you rock? There's always haters as someone else already pointed out.

So, it's pretty easy to tell if someone is a good singer or not. Is he? That should really be the basis of your decision. Does he sing in key or doesn't he? Does he have no showmanship or something? What's missing here?
