Maybe the person is chased off by my persistence or is not used to seeing my kind of complaining and mistakes it for spam?
But in short no matter what I try, whether I try to take the direct approach (posting an ad for a keyboard player on a site like Craigslist or a site like this, or a printed copy at a music store) or take the indirect approach (asking music teachers and band members in my area on Craigslist, asking people on the forums of sites like this), I can't seem to reach anybody promising. It always seems to reach someone who doesn't know how to handle the situation and who is easily angered, and who can't fully relate to what I'm looking for, and if I want to discuss something in more detail, or want to learn how to use something more effectively, that person will get butt hurt for no reason, in the case of the indirect approach, and in the case of the direct approach, my ad seems to reach people who are a little bit too far ahead in their music pursuit. By that, I mean, people who already have a big music project going, and who play out a lot, or who are music producers, as opposed to a college student who plays a little music on the side, and maybe has some general friends to go to the movies with, or to hang out and play video games with, but doesn't yet have a friend who enjoys playing pop and soft rock music with.
