Don't be so thin skinned, jr.

People always going to talk, all of it won't be nice.

Live with it. Talk directly to those that have something to say, ignore the rest.

"There's plenty of people I don't like, but I've given up the idea that they need to be told about it". "Fact is they do not".

You want to be seen and heard more effectively? Then concentrate on the things you think are positive and comment about that.

Nobody likes the negative unless they are your drinking buddies and we're all making fun of whoever at a low volume while whoever is playing at the time.

NEVER be loud enough to be noticed, especially while your brethren are trying to play something, even if you hate it. If it's that bad, just get up and leave.

Now, with that out of the way, let's start seeing some posts from individuals who are A LOT nicer than the guys who have currently responded to my posts. Guys who are not uptight, and who are much more willing to just have a good conversation with me, and who won't lecture me about what I should and shouldn't do. Someone who will listen to me and not get upset if I state that the website in question won't work for me. Someone who doesn't come to my topics to insult me.

What are you talking about? I really didn't understand any of that, and I'm running into too many people with your attitude. A lot of them LOVE to show their age by making referrences to movies they've seen in their posts as part of a joke, or come off as washed up musicians, rather than coming across aspiring young talent.

Also I am not as thinned skinned as you may think. It's just that I have run into WAY too many people who are WAY too easily aggravated, and who are a little too serious about pursuing a music career or starting a band. What happened to the guys who are around my age and who just play for enjoyment, but who are talented musicians?

I also find it ironic how guys like you are telling me to not be an asshole, yet I see a lot of very dickish posts from that person. I have also encountered such behavior when I was on Baton Rouge Rocks. Even when talking on the phone.

I would also like to understand why guys like you get so butt hurt when I honestly tell you or a given individual why a given suggestion wasn't won't work. I'm not invalidating that person's request. I'll usually point out a flaw in the suggestion that would prevent me from finding someone with the personal prefferrences given.

Anyway, is there any one else who can help? Someone much smarter than the guys who have currently responded, and someone who will stick around for awhile to actually take the time to talk about a wide variety of music sites to try? More specifically, music sites that attract young aspiring talent, and thus where I have a better chance coming across a guy around my age who loves playing a wide variety of pop and soft rock music, as opposed to what this place attracts?

Another thing that really aggravates me is that this thread is 5 pages long, and it's not my fault, but the fault of the trolls. If people didn't spend so much time hating, and just had a much more relaxed attitude, things wouldn't have gotten so crazy in this thread.

And to everyone reading this thread, I am a guy who listens. When I tell you that your suggestion is not going to work, don't get offended and start saying that I'm making excuses or being an assholes. Relax.

Another thing I have not seen from people who offer me help is EFFORT. An attempt to truly reccommend something good to try that I haven't already tried, while at the same time keeping in mind that I'm looking for a casual, but talented keyboard player, rather than playing with the big boys who go out to bars, and get drink with their friends, and who are trying to impress the ladies with their macho attitude.

Everywhere I've been to so far, I keep coming across the latter, rather than the former, even when the guy claims that he liked playing pop and soft rock music, and played keyboard.

Cliffy you ARE a little whiny ass troll. The only reason this thread is so long is that you don't know how to use the edit button and as a result, you write 5 posts for every 1 you actually need.

And the chance that you find what you are looking for is slim to nil.

Furthermore I think there is NO ONE more dense on this site than YOU.

Why don't you STOP your whining about how I'm using the edit button and STOP calling me a troll. If you can't relate to what I'm looking or if what I'm looking for makes you angry because I'm on a site that most people use to look for gigs, while I'm on here looking for a friend, you need to get a life!

I am NOT a troll, Scott. YOU are. Unlike you, I didn't post this topic to intentionally get people riled up. I posted this topic so I could talk to some guys around my age and LEARN about a variety of music sites to try. Good ones. Ones that provide features similar to this site, but which are aimed at aspiring young musicians, rather than those who are looking for gigs, or to form a band.

Also the amount of stuff I post on here would be a lot less, if people with your attitude kept your noses out. I expected to see a lot more well-behaved individuals. I mean, really, I'm looking at the profiles of some of the people who responded, and most don't even play the music I enjoy, or they have a profile where they show a very dickish attutde, unlike mine, where I try my best to come across as friendly.

And if people like you didn't post and run, and ACTUALLY stuck around for awhile and actually had a very civil conversation, instead of throwing insults around, this thread wouldv'e been A WHOLE lot better.

Again, to everybody who has a problem with me on here. STOP complaining. It's not doing you or me any good to if you just insult me. I feel sorry for those who feel the need to insult me by calling ME the troll, when that person doesn't recognize that he's the one being the troll.

Again, right now, instead of typing this post, by maybe page 1 or 2, I couldv'e already been trying out some much better music sites. Instead, what do people do to me here? They leave trollish posts, and insults.

Why is that?

Some people just cannot be helped.

Sorry I couldn't steer you in the right direction, Cliff.

But you can't say I didn't try, although I am officially done with it now.

Good Luck..
