And Mike, don't you EVER call me a troll. A troll is someone who posts for attention to get everyone riled up. I am NOT that kind of person. I know better than to do that sort of thing, and you should recognize that, even though I am persistent and trying to reach people who are much smarter and a lot nicer.

If you want to see a troll, go to an Adam Lambert video on YouTube, and look for the ones that have comments like "I hate gays", or those that say "being gay is wrong" and who start quoting passages from The Bible. For another example, look up a Madonna video on YouTube, and look for the comments where The Little Monsters comment and say that Lady Gaga is better.

And as stated, people who respond to my topics lately are hit-and-run posters, rather than people who like to stick around on the board, and who would like to stick around and have intimate conversations, and get to know each other.

Again, seriously, people I am NOT a troll. I have no intention of making anyone upset. The ones who are upset by my posts, need to relax, and examine what I'm looking for from a friendship based perspective, rather than from a working man's musician perspective.

Another thing that people seem to ignore (both here and during my BRR run) is my honesty, and how detailed I can be when covering the various problems I'm having when dealing with people. On any of these forums that were reccommended to me, I never expected to reach so many bullies, and short-tempered individuals. It's making me extremely sad, because people online are either telling me to do the research myself, or they praise Google, and think it can solve every problem, or the person doesn't want anything to do with me, especially when I haven't done anything wrong.

If people like GuitarMikeB, Paperdog, and Jahva, stayed out of this topic, and gave my intended audience a chance to show up; i.e., guys around my age who love playing pop and soft rock music, and who just play for fun, you guys wouldn't see so much complaining.

Here's another sad story. Sometime ago, I found another music forum site. I can't quite remember, but it was probably around late 2011 to early 2012. I think it was called muzicforums.com or something. It looked promising, so I signed up, and put in my two cents regarding looking for a keyboard player in Baton Rouge who enjoys a wide variety of pop and soft rock music.

I end up browsing the forum for some time, and coming across some individuals who think they are smart, but who weren't. Some of the posts I read were quite childish or looked like they were written by kids. So, one day, without going into too much detail, I state that I didn't really like the forum, and asked how to delete my account. Instead of the receiving a "how to" on doing that, I refresh the page, and realize that my account is banned.

Try this site but honestly it's for Musicians.
You're going to keep running into the same wall over and over...

Why don't you just try some curious gay friend site. I'm serious... In all the years I've been around musicians I've never met anyone remotely close to what you're looking for.
Most Musicians will think you are out of your mind! That's why you get harrassed... Seriously look over 20 other ads here at BM and there is nothing even remotely close to what you're looking for...
Band Mix and many other classifieds are filled with.... MUSICIANS!!!
Not find a friend ads or help the semi-handicap learn to play the keyboard, have lunch and go to a movie together!

Get that through your head and stop the nonsense.

That's why I'm suggesting go find a gay friendly site. And you probably aren't going to get "WHICH ONE" from anyone here.
Faqing stop it already.

I noticed another thing you overlooked when you reccommended MusicinaContact.com. You didn't think to check to see if they had a forum.

No I am not. I am fully aware of what I'm doing. A troll is someone who's intentions are to get a bunch of people riled up or a single person riled up. You are wrongfully acusing me of being one. I have a hunch that YOU are being the troll but ONLY to me.

You have all the traits of a troll. You post and run, and don't take the time to consider the different places I've already tried. You have a very short temper and whenever I tell you that I can't or don't want to follow through on the given suggestion, and go into detail about why that suggestion isn't going to work, instead of sticking with me, and helping me find something better, you feel like I've invalidated your suggestion, and say that I'm making excuses. Then you spread that around on the entire board, and get other people to believe that.

This has been going on since the beginning of my search. Let me repeat. I am NOT a troll. I have no intention of getting people riled up.

Again, you want to see a good example of a troll, check out comments on Adam Lambert videos where someone complains about Adam being gay, and that he sucks, or go to a Madonna video and check out The Little Monsters that say things like "Madonna copied Lady Gaga" when it's actually the other way around.

I am far from that. I know better than to intentionally get people riled up. If I could just reach someone who is the direct opposite of the guys who have currently responded to my posts, and reach someone who can relate to some of the problems I'm having, and help me resolve some of these issues, then I could definetely prove you guys wrong.

The more you guys say that I'm a troll, the more you are fueling my fire to continue posting. Although at this point, I've pretty much covered all the problems.

Here's another problem I ran into during my search. When I was on Baton Rouge Rocks, a few people on the site reccommended that I discover some bands in the Baton Rouge area that played pop and soft rock music, and become friends with one of the band members, but whenever I asked them about such bands, instead of learning about some guys around my age who play pop and soft rock music, they reccommended bands that played weird indie rock stuff, and classic rock.

And the places that they would use to reccommend these bands, were places where the bands profiles didn't indicate who was who, and instead of using good quality pictures of the band members, with information about each individual member, the band would just have music up, and represent themselves using a symbol.

Anyway, please don't give up on me. Jahva was on the right track, he just needed to look for something aimed at hobbying musicians rather than sites aimed at professionals and gigging musicians. Also as noted above, a personals with a musician angle would be ideal as well.

Another thing that I've noticed is that a lot of the people I talk to on here or on Baton Rouge Rocks, reccommend what they consider good sites, but that don't have a forum. One such place is Reverbnation. There have been others that I've come across, but I can't remember the names of such places.

If there isn't anyone on here to help, don't worry about it.

I'm sorry if my posts aggravated anyone.

People who are reading these posts, do NOT listen to all the haters that responded. I am a good guy who just needs some help discovering some appropriate music sites to post my requests, and help to resolve a few of the other issues I've been dealing with from people in general.

Also I'm getting really annoyed with my posts (no matter where I post) reaching individuals who just love expressing their hate, in some way. I see WAY too much of it lately, and am not seeing enough from the people who know better.

Again, why the trollish behavior? Seriously? The time you guys spend trying to come up with some clever inside joke that only you and your buddies understand, or insulting me or reccomending something, then making fun of me in some way, would instead be better used doing what you can to help, this means, first checking my profile, and comparing your music tastes and goals and experience level to mine and seeing if they are similar, and spending time learning about people's experiences at various venues and various music websites and boards. In other words, the opposite of what I've been encountering for the past 6 years online.

Please, give the musicians on here who like the music I enjoy a chance to respond, and give those who are around my age and who play for fun a chance to respond.

That's the problem Cliffy, no one around your age and in your area with your set of likes.

You're pounding the pavement, but you are intent on what you want to do.
(small target)

If you consent to just play whatever the prevailing winds are blowing in, you just made your target demographic much bigger. (bigger target)

PS: Don't take the bait so readily. Yeah, you are a troll but for you to write 10 posts where 1 would do, just reinforces the idea to the general public in here.

Think about it like the school yard. If you reply to every kid that says something nasty to you, you are going to have a long day.

"Think a little more about what you want to say and say less to the kids that irk you the most".

To tell the truth, you strike me as mildly creepy in general, but I still salute your albeit mismanaged efforts to try and get something going for yourself.

You have to ask yourself, is it more important to play in general or to do exactly what you want to do, regardless>?

I'd say the first option.

When I don't play, I feel out of sorts.
That's primarily why I play bass in other situations, to reach a more common ground.

I only want to play guitar for my own thing and very very few situations fall into that category, so the next best thing is to play bass in someone else's slightly more skewed thing but it's still fun as hell.

Sorry if my spelling/punctuation is out today, my head is ringing like a dinner gong.

PS: Grant don't slam that tune like that, I like "Last train to Clarksville".
