Oh, and to all of those who think they are posting something clever to try to break me? That just fuels MY fire to continue asking for help until the right individuals come along.

Now, with that out of the way, are there any other sites like similar to this one that can allow me to get the word out even more? Because one of the problems I'm having in my search for this keyboard player is not having enough places to advertise my stuff.

Also being able to chat with more guys around my age who enjoy more of the same artists I enjoy would be helpful as well.

Get a life! That is not cute and you know it! Seriously, why can't you just leave me alone if all you want to do is troll somebody. I feel sorry for people like you, and wish you the best in life.

I pour my heart out to everyone here, and instead of reaching people who want to have intimate discussions, and take the time to help each other out with whatever that person requests, I reach people who love being jerks, and who see me as one, not to mention people who are easily ticked off.

If all of these punks would just lay off, and give my intended audience a chance to respond, things might turn around. But they are chased off by those very guys.

Now, let's not get distracted. Can someone please help me learn about some more places like this one, where I can create a profile, and advertise my stuff, AND talk with other like minded musicians around my age. The more places I can advertise on, the better the odds that I'll reach someone who fits more what I'm looking for. And also I won't be stuck on one forum complaining. I might actually start using the forum to actually talk with other musicians who enjoy some of the same artists I enjoy.

Try this site but honestly it's for Musicians.
You're going to keep running into the same wall over and over...

Why don't you just try some curious gay friend site. I'm serious... In all the years I've been around musicians I've never met anyone remotely close to what you're looking for.
Most Musicians will think you are out of your mind! That's why you get harrassed... Seriously look over 20 other ads here at BM and there is nothing even remotely close to what you're looking for...
Band Mix and many other classifieds are filled with.... MUSICIANS!!!
Not find a friend ads or help the semi-handicap learn to play the keyboard, have lunch and go to a movie together!

Get that through your head and stop the nonsense.

That's why I'm suggesting go find a gay friendly site. And you probably aren't going to get "WHICH ONE" from anyone here.
Faqing stop it already.

Wow! First off, I would try a gay friend site, but I don't know of any that don't give off a vibe of someone searching for a boyfriend or sex and that use pictures of naked guys touching on each other as the selling point. I would need one that's for musicians. Why? Because at it's core, I'm still looking for a musician, just someone more casual and not so serious.

I tried that sometime in 2010, and 2011 on a site called OKCupid, and still didn't find a single keyboard player who showed a passion for most of the artists I enjoy.

Also a gay site would limit my choices because I still need to include guys who are straight as well. My profile will still have a musician angle as well, rather than a request for a boyfriend.

So, in short, can you guys stop with the whole gay site thing, and reccommend something good? It would help if you guys also reccommended something that's completely free. That way, I can use all the important features of the given site. This includes being able to contact someone, being able to browse the site, being able to interact on the forums, being able to post videos, and audio.

Jahva, I know how to play the keyboard. I just want to learn some advanced skills, but I would like to develope a friendship with the guy as well, rather than be part of a business. I don't want everything I do with him to be JUST about playing music.

These skills include songwriting, music composition, and mixing and recording. Thus, the guy I'm looking for needs to have a computer with mixing and recording software on it. I am a smart keyboard player who can play by ear, took lessons at 13 to learn the basics of music, including music terms.

Also I've noticed that whenever I ask for some new things to try, instead of getting a handful of good quality suggestions, I only get ONE, and the site usually turns out to be some cheap site with an ugly GUI, or a site that's a bit too professional for where I stand musically. This also includes asking about personals sites. I usually run into way too many where most users are looking for sex, and where most users can't play a lick of music.

Also you've got to factor in that I'm legally blind, and thus cannot drive. This means that the guy who's interested in playing some music with me needs to be able to drive, AND live in a section of Baton Rouge that doesn't take him 30 minutes or more to get to where I live.

Also it helps if I can reach guys who are available to hang out during the day, and who don't frequent bars or clubs a lot.

Dear Agent Mulder,

I regret to Inform you that the X-Files Case cannot be closed at this time. As you can see, there are still sightings and reports of nefarius activities by unidentified personnnel, posing as human social members.

We now have reason to believe that an alien is attempting to communicate with contacts, said to be hiding in a formation of space crafts, (hovering in stealth mode over area 54...or is that Studio 51? I can never remember)

Please investigate the following: www.Bandmix.com
The target of interest goes by the the following names:
1) Lambert
2) Glambert
3) PopRock Dude
4) Obama.

Remember, to maintain radio silence... And I was never here...

Why do I keep running into people who use message boards to troll people like this? Do NOT get distracted by guys like Paperdog. Dealing with trolls all the time like Paperdog, and Jahva, is another reason why I can't reach anyone good. The people I'm trying to reach are chased off by their behavior, AND the way in which I try to get through to them, gives those people the impression that I'm insane.

Let's keep the replies coming, but let's see the opposite of what Jahva, and Paperdog post. I'm tired of seeing all of these bullies, and trolls responding to my topic for a quick laugh, and then responding in vain to try to get through to them only to cause them to try to be clever again. I've had to deal with this kind of crap during the earlier stages of my search when I used Baton Rouge Rocks, and occsionally, through direct responses to my Craigslist ad. And nobody else would help me stand up to them. Those who did try, would side with the individual who was messing with me. This also happened on non-music based sites as well, like OKCupid, and the personals section of Craigslist, and also on Facebook, and Myspace.

Why do my requests or public posts always reach the trolls, and bullies, rather than the guys who know better, and who know how to behave?

I mean, I'm not threatening anybody, I'm not posting for attention, or doing anything wrong on any of those sites.

I also don't understand why I would get friend requests from people who weren't nice enough to tell me how they found me, and instead of just adding me as a friend out of the blue, why they didn't allow a little time to develope a friendship.

Also when some people responded to my Craigslist ad, or a printed version of it at a music store, most of the time, that person would initially show an interest in playing some music with me, but when I would try get back with him, he would blow me off. I would learn that the phone number lead to a business, or his friend's phone, rather than his phone. This guy would usually have some kind of reason to get off the phone and not allow me to talk initially, which could range from saying that he's late for work, or class, or he would call during a season when most people are out of town visiting family, like on summer vacation, Thanksgiving, or Christmas.

Why does everybody keep saying they can't help? I mean, I'm getting that from Craigslist (silent treatment from anyone I e-mail), Baton Rouge Rocks, AND on this site, and even through my Guitar Center ad, which up until about 2011, got at least some moderate responses, but NEVER quite reached the musician with the right kind of credentials.

Also why do I keep running into people on a forum who speak for everybody on the forum, instead of people speaking for themselves, and being a lot nicer about telling whether a given person can help or not.

If you keep wrongfully acusing me of being a troll, and speaking for every single other person on the site, that only adds to the fire, because saying that there isn't anyone on a given forum who can't help is the worst thing anyone can say. However, I WILL accept it if ONE person says that he can't help anymore.
