Mike is right if you have faith in what sat happened your right, but if you show doubt which you are buy not notifying your insurance you are going to lose. You are the one that says money can buy happiness by way of relieving stress.I say buy a stress reliever.

Here Here! I agree. Pennsylvania has had the sweetest most coveted and easily refinable oil this nation has ever produced. No matter which state your in you will run into these same kinds of problems. My 2cd oldest (30) year old has the same attitude as you Kramer. He is fighting a ticket in traffic court. He is VERY frustrated. Down here they keep rescheduling your trial in an attempt to cause so much inconvienence, that you have NO choice but to give in because it starts becoming a job threatening fight for you.
Let us know how it goes as I believe you are in for an eye opening experience. Life ain't fair brother IMO sometimes its better to just CUT YOUR LOSSES! I told my son that and he said almost verbatim what you said!

for the record, this is really just the icing on the cake. PA is a "right to work" state, was one of the first. I've lost two jobs for no good reason other than someone had it our for me / wanted my job. There's zero recourse for that here. There are few employment lawyers because you can't win a case. The ones who exist only take discrimination cases, period.

Our current governor was given an award by a watch-dog site as "the best governor money can buy". Being named the #1 most corrupted among 50 is impressive, no?

Fracking in this state is out of control, given cart blanche, including access to state gamelands. Everything here is for sale.

The state laws on utilities is horrendously on the side of utilities, leaving consumers often treated unjustly and extorted. The PA "fair choice" act only enables them to punish people financially for attempting to choose.

Can you say tennant rights? PA can't.

PA coddles to insurance companies - allowing them to overcharge for all types, and again.. the laws are so damn friendly to the corporations that what they provide is more aptly called extortion than insurance. This goes double for health insurance.

CHIP - this one is really great.. No child will go uninsured. Well, sort of. Well maybe, not really. If you are middle-upper class, you get to choose from personal choice, atena, etc.. all 100% coverage on all medical AND prescription expenses, even ambulance rides. If you make something like $50k+, you have to pay a small, subsidized premium like $35 a month, but still no co-pays or scripts out of pocket.. sweet deal.

BUT.. if you aren't making 2x poverty level household income.. well YOU get to go onto medicaid.. benefits that are so bad that most doctors won't even accept them.. and the ones who do won't accept new patients. People talk about 3-month waits in canada for a doctor appointment? My kid waited FOUR. And that's when I had real benefits for her.

And disabled kids? NOT ELIGIBLE FOR CHIP. You read that right. The dump them on medicaid, and then actually tried to impose a new law to charge the parents premiums. Not just some socialist premiums, but actual market rate.. I got the bill last november - $314 for a month of shitty health insurance that covers almost nothing, and no doctor will take.

I could go on for days.. I know it's not JUST pennsylvania.. this whole country is turning into an epitome of corruption and failure. PA just carries the flag and marches at the front of the parade, in that regard.

MIke is correct... Fighting in court (for traffic tickets) is generally a waste of time... but, if you decide to... use the right protocols mentioned earlier.

At the end of the day you and I are LESS than a number!

Well I think you know my voting habits well enough. I vote for populism and fairness.

You are correct that we are no longer the masters. "We the people" are now viewed as expendable (war) leeches (consumers) who are easily manipulated (marketing, propaganda), and criminal (incarceration rates).

Local cops are nothing but bullies and henchmen. The ducks are all lined up. The dominoes are all in place. The entire system is gamed to serve nothing but fear and obedience into the mass public, and to be constantly reminded (like the reason of this post), that we are to do just as they say - sit down, shut up, and take it.

Not this greenie.

I would too. 99% chance he has no idea he hit her, which would shed 0% light on the situation.

The bottom line is she was in her lane at a dead stop waiting for him to pass. He hit her. In her lane. She wasn't moving.

I did some reading and see WHY the cop called it her fault.. the law is unfortunately written in a way that places all blame on the yielding lane, regardless of circumstance.

It's good to know, really. Now I can careen into a yield lane, kill a family of 4 and their pet dog, and laugh because it's their fault. That's the law. Period.

Kramer I'm happy your wife wasn't hurt. As for all the B.S. with the police...

One thing I do know, that the average driver JUST DOESN'T UNDERSTAND.

Stay away from trucks. Treat them as a MAJOR RISK.
Does your wife really believe that trucker could feel the bump from a 53 foot trailer? These things can be loaded up to 80000 pounds... what chance does a 5000 pond car stand... NONE.

Yet I see it all the time, where people treat them as just another vehicle.

YIELD TO TRUCKS,and YIELD TO THEM IN A MAJOR WAY...

Even worse is when I see a truck trying to be driven like a car!
