Introducing Chartburst...

http://www.Chartburst.com is a unique new service that is the first of its kind, specialising in connecting unsigned musicians with major record label talent scouts for deal consideration and feedback.

How does it work?
1. Upload your music to one of our publicly-voted, genre-specific charts
2. Promote your submission to friends and fans
3. If your track makes it into the Top 5 of that chart it will be forwarded to A&R at Sony, Warner, Universal and many more!

It's totally free to sign up and upload to our charts while our site is in its beta stage but musicians need an invite code to get involved. You can get an invite on the signup page where it says 'click here for a code'!

Hope to see you on the charts soon!

Another place that wants YOU to get your friends to sign up so they have a list of email addresses they can then sell to spammers! And they want the musicians to pay $5 a month for the privilege.
Do people really believe anyone at these 'major labels' is going to hear their music?

Hi Mike,

Sorry that you seem to think we're out to make a quick buck by selling emails to spammers. That is not what we're doing...

Chartburst only launched in January and already has secured meetings with Sony and Warner for one of our artists. It looks like he will be signing a deal with either of them very soon!

Excuse me for being cynical, but we see this same type of thing here on a regular basis.

Mike, I totally understand your cynicism! I know how many appaling sites there are out there that claim to help musicians. I can only hope you believe me when I say we are not one of them...

Unfortunately, when the ranking comes from "how many fans can you get to sign up and vote for your song", its nothing more than a popularity contest - nothing to do with actual talent or ability.

That is a fair comment and is something we are well aware of but have a system in place to combat this:-

Chartburstis a crowd-sourced artist discovery platform that aims to put real influence into the hands of the people who actually consume music. We need to make sure that all votes on the site are unbiased and to do this we have a clever weighted voting system that takes into account many factors to do with the voters involvement on the site. The aim is to make sure that those who do come to the site just to vote for a friends band have far less powerful a vote than those who use the site regularly and vote for all sorts of tracks on the site.

At the end of the day, Chartburst can't work unless our Top 5 tracks are of good quality, so it's in our interest to make sure that voting is unbiased.

Hope this makes sense?

Yeah, right. Good intentions, but ain't gonna happen. People will vote for their friend, but they are not going to do more. Maybe 1 in a hundred will listen to anyone else's tunes or look further - at most. Seen it before.

so your privacy policy explicitly states that you do not share any artist or fan information with any third parties? A simple yes or no will suffice.
