I know several guys who pay child support. Most of them.. well, ALL of them are bled dry by it, in some cases, very unfairly. I've known guys over the years who just fell more and more behind .. you can rack up $30k in less than two years EASY..

This guy could afford enough lawyers to BURY that crap, but he manned up and paid, no muss, no fuss. If he was a real AHOLE, he could have caused grief 10 different ways.

So you don't know his story.. maybe he did just slack off, maybe he didn't.

Way to judge someone prematurely though 8)

I was just stating a fact I heard on tv - any judgement was in YOUR eyes. Fact is, though, how much money was he throwing away on lottery tickets during that time he wasn't paying child support?

Just an observation, most people who play the lottery seem to be poor and in debt to their eyeballs.
People who are well off don't bother.
Desperation maybe?

You are right Mike B, that was money he could have been paying towards his obligation, but by including the eye-rolling emoticon you WERE making a judgement and not merely reporting a fact. Just callin' 'em as I sees 'em.

Mike N, poor people typically play the lottery because they are less educated and don't understand the odds. The five dollars they spend really isn't going to change their life that much, however winning the lottery definitely would, thus they play.
