I know this is a music site but my state TN is one of the Super Tuesday Primary states. If you live in one of these states or have a primary coming up remember to get out and vote.

A lot of rights have been taken away from us but we still have the right to vote, so make sure you get out and vote.

I cant tell you who to vote for, that is your decision, just get out and vote.

I feel like I have done my civic duty now.

I would love the chance to be able to vote for a black president or a female president, but sadly, the two candidates fitting that description both want to condemn tens of thousands of Iraqis that supported Democracy to death. They want to repeat Vietnam, which took decades to recover from. And they will inevitably strengthen the resolve of those who wish to destroy the ideals of freedom and equality, not to mention give them an entire country to operate from, with the guidance and funding of Iran. Ultimately, the problem will intensify, and we will then have to play catch-up to deal with, what will then be, a far greater threat than we face now.

As far as Iraq goes, that war is just plain out nuts now. It is like you cannot win. I worry about our troops, I want them out of there. But then you take them out and who knows what will happen, I always felt maybe we should just let the Iraqi's fend for themselves now. On the contrary, that may blow up in our faces, so this is a nightmare and hard to face. I think Senator Biden's idea of dividing it into 3 states would work best, but no one will listen to him.

Look into the Libertarian party.

I like some of their platform, then again some of it is ridiculous. Unfortunately for me, same goes with Democrats and Republicans.

Luckily (or not) for us, we live, not in a true Democracy, but a representative Democracy, which means, we don't choose the president anyway, the electoral college does. The constitution does not require the electors to vote as pledged, meaning even though they are sent to vote for a certain candidate, they can vote for whoever they personally choose to when casting their ballot. Some states however, do require, that an elector vote as pledged. Unfortunately many states, I think it is actually, most states, do not.

it's tough to choose the right person. they all lie and cheat. they all are very good speakers(except for mccain). And every single one of them have an entire team making them appear better than what they are.. Our choices are so critical right now regardless of where you stand on any topic.. my stance is against continuing in Iraq. Our bous and girls have been fighting for five years. our fight there will not end terroism and will not end fundamentalism. we need to strengthen the ole mighty dollar and our diplomacy. our dollar has always been the biggest gun in the world. and now the value our dollar makes it possible for the terroist to do more against us. we have no strength internationaly because our president decided he would not speak to those leaders who opposed him out right. hell he walked hand in hand with the leader(9ruthless, fundamentalist our worst enemy in the region)of saudi arabia. Thank you mr president. you let your pride stand inthe way of your brain.Oh that's right he left his brain on the last mirror he chopped up his cocain on.. Hmmmmmmm must be chenney running everything, several strokes and a contract with satan himself , after all. it pisses me off that i voted for him because i did not want to change presidents during a war. I know that picture well. It is Neville Chamberlain, waving around a pledge from Adolf Hitler not to make any more territorial demands in Europe after the Taking of the Sudetenland and the Anschluss in Austria. Chamberlain touted this as "peace in our time".

However, Craig, you are waaaay off the mark making that analogy in today's situation. Iran is, as it has been for some time, a scapegoat of US oil policy and nothing has changed. Ever since an evil cabal of British oil and American CIA schemers overthrew Iran's first democratically elected president Muhammad Mossadegh back in the early 50s, what could have been America's greatest friend in the region has been smacked into the face by Washington time and time again. That great crime against Iranian democracy back in the 50s laid the groundwork for Ayatollah Khomeini and the 1979 hostage crisis. Many Americans don't realize how this all goes so far back, and rests on the shoulders of our putrid, intrusive foreign policy at the behest of multinational business congloms.

And even today, Iran has done nothing wrong to us. Unlike us, they have not invaded and occupied several nations across the globe. Unlike us, they have not colluded with a plethora of business interests to destabilize an entire region for the market benefit of a few, at the expense of the many.

So, demonizing Iran is the biggest stage show we have put on since the rush to war with Iraq. And if we are ever stupid enough to pursue it, it will be 100 times the disaster that Iraq is. The Iranians, even though they want to live in a liberal nontheological democracy, will never settle for US interference and will make us their mortal enemies forever if we attack them. We do so at our own peril, and to our own lying disgrace.

Well, not to excuse American foreign policy, which is often inexcusable, but you neglected to mention that the new Iranian parliament nationalized their oil, seizing foreign owned (namely Britain) assets, and turning them over to the state. Countries don't like it, when they invest billions of dollars, only to have their money and assets seized.

He would never have been a friend to America, as his entire platform was "anti-imperialistic" the lovely buzz-word which declares powers like Great Britain and the U.S. as evil interferers.

Now, I am certainly not defending America's CIA activities or foreign policy. After all, we created a war of uhhh... "independence" in Panama, just so we could build a canal there.

But Iran certainly has done us harm, by arming and training al qaeda terrorists in Iraq, to kill American forces, and by promoting the murder of Americans everywhere, by training children from childhood, that America is the great satan, and suicide bombing Americans is a worthy endeavor. Not to mention their desire to become a nuclear armed nation.

You are absolutely right, that our foreign policy is often immoral and designed only to further our economic interests, but slowly and surely, we have taken some strides away from that end, realizing, finally, that these unhappy campers come back to bite us in our ass, sometimes using our own training and weapons to do it.

Condoleza Rice, to her credit, has admitted much of our past sins, and tried to help move us away from that tainted past.

Too bad the Republicans didn't put her in the race. We could have had the first female president, and the first black president, at the same time, and I wouldn't have to fear, that we are about to become complicit in the murders of thousands of Iraqis, destroy our credibility in the world, and be attacked on a far greater scale than is occuring now.

I must say, truthfully, I had no clue who that was in that photo. Which I will also say is rather strange since my knowledge of World War II is not so bad, I have a fairly good understanding of it. My mother would have probably known who that was in a second.

My grandfather on the other hand knew automatically who that was, lol. I had to do a little research to figure out who that guy was, never even heard of him.

I am no historian, so I guess my knowledge of the subject is limited. It has always been enough to get through school stuff though.

Looks like RhythmMan was right, I got to bury my head into the books, lol. I started studying yesterday, started with Chemistry. I am pretty done in the English department, I know most of that stuff (I will brush over it thoroughly though). English was definitely a good subject for me, I got A's in my English's classes online. Actually, any class I took online I got A's in. Especially Economics, I scored 100.57% percent on that one.

But I must admit I never took a history class online, I signed up for it, but dropped it because it was too many for me to handle. I was a home-schooler who was not prepared for a real school workload (As many of us are not). I passed every year with blazing colors though.

So, sorry, but Neville Chamberlain was just not someone I knew of.

As far as I am concerned though, history is full of atrocities and in this country we are just making more of them to fill the books with later. The more wars we get involved in, the more Hell we bring upon ourselves. Iraq is a demolition derby. Iran is a joke in my eyes though, the only thing I fear with them is an attack on Israel, which ultimately will drag us into the war (Or Israel attacking them).

It bothers me, I care not to be drafted. I am a patriot to my country, but I will not die for a senseless war. I will fight however if it means the survival of my family. I remember thinking back then that if I saw a draft coming I would join the Air Force, now I see one is nearing and I do not know what to do (But this is not a path I will take since I do not support the wars).

At the rate we are going now it will not be long before someone presses that red button, must I note that when that happens we are all screwed. Scientifically speaking, that could create a Nuclear Winter, which if you understand how the Earth functions, you know it will destroy everything.
My mind is heavily geared towards science, I guess that is why I am going for Biomedical Engineering.

So let's just say, I have a scientific mind (And apparently one that lacks in historical knowledge).

*If any of my opinions offend anyone, I apologize sincerely. I am just stating my personal beliefs on these controversial matters that we are discussing.

I must heavily press on the fact that we are all mature adults here (At least in certain technical terms I am considered an adult) and should be able to handle discussing these subjects without becoming belligerent and/or hateful in any regards. I may not be the wisest person on the planet, but from how past subjects have gone on these boards during the short time I have been here, it looks like this could become the same. I would hate to see that after we just had a war in the religious section. So if we must discuss politics when they are really out of place, then we should at least coincide with keeping it peaceful.

The most important thing in my mind is defense of our constatution. Mc Cain to me is Clinton out of drag. I dont care for pasty socalists who think the nanny state knows best. as far as the hatred in our world that makes a constant state of war necessary in order to maintain justice and liberty it is very sad however sitting around singin cum by ya aint gona fix it. I want our soldiers out of Iraqe and Afganastan as well. Then what to do about the growing hate and murder by the extremists.
