To answer your question.

Sometimes. When I do I simply learn it if I like it. What gets me are the crappy commercial jungles that will get stuck in my head. Why? I hate them. However I learned how to make them go away in short order.

I make up words to them as they are playing in my head. When I come to a snag, The song goes away, just like it does when you I am stuck in a song that I am writing. :)

They are called 'anchor songs' and of course some nimrod has done a 'study.'

For me, I can banish an anchor song by mentally or physically singing "Hark the Heral Angels Sing." Unless that is the anchor song. :D

Seriously, have no idea why that carol works for me, other than, it does.

I get a song stuck in my head almost daily.

Don't listen to the radio, it's just sucking your brains.

Almost always some music is being played in my head. Even if it's BG noise it's there.

Several from Lowell Premer's new CD Angel. He's on Jango radio. We're doing an all original show in May. I have to learn at least nine of them. Some are definitely a challenge. Then I'm introducing a few new originals of mine. The drummer's got a few new ones, and Jamie Hilleary is joining us so he's got several. A challenge for sure and not much time left to get them all in.

Every time I'm washing dishes I always hum this tune. When I hum it for people nobody knows what it is. One person said it sounds like an old southern song like when working on a plantation. I soundhounded it , nothing. The mystery lingers.
