Oh just play it and they will come if you got something worth listening to.

You Tube.. puhleassse. (spits)

There is no substitution for being able to do the job at hand.

Even better is when you play well and you play with a few other groups that night.

If you play well, they will hate your fing guts after it's over.
I see it time and time again, just don't let it bother you.

On the other hand, if you suxor and you have 1 mil You Tube hits, you will eventually have to do a show.

Then it's time to panic because you will have to play and if you can't, it's going to be the fastest ride into hell you ever felt.

That a big chunk of wisdom there.

Layering is fun, but LIVE sounding work means it's easily reproducible at the end of the day and priceless if you plan to play it.

GnR was never all that and a handbag to me.
I liked Velvet Revolver better.

Hey Rich, this guy is in your area right?
Maybe he'd be fun for you to work with?

There is nothing wrong with 'layering' and multiple parts - as long as you can do a version of the song live. Bands have been doing this ever since 4-track tape decks came into being in the early 60s.
If that's not what you/your band aim for, that's fine too - each to his own.

As far as youtube 'hits', unless you get some type of viral thing going, you are not going to get a million hits UNTIL you are already known.

Jimmy, your CD's are too good to give away...

Thanks Bob, and I totally understand what you're saying, but it's better to have a nice following than sell a few CD's here and there. It's a calculated gamble.
