Tell Me about it... This instrument is amazing... I'm still trying to figure out how to tune this... What's really interesting is how that eerie resonance we associate to the Sitar relies heavily on the entire bank of strings to be properly tuned,
in the correct register of their respective scales... If they are not proper, the effects are diminished.
Also finding out that there are apposing methods of scales, depending on what religion you are...HA HA! There are some pragmatics as well.. For example: Our Open E tuning is too slack for sitar open keys... Sitars are generally tuned , either in C# or D.
I'm still not sure how string order is defined... (and I'm only talking about the main strings.)
I will figure this bad boy out...only a matter of time...
