Well my cover band Aint Yo Mama has a show this sat night. Should be a blast. Gonna pull Detroit Rock City out sat night, man that damn guitar break has had me in tears, do I use the Whammy Pedal Or Not, do i use a fifth or an octave up, then I tryed an octave down and it sounded fuller than an octave up, oh well its only rock n roll, not rocket science.

Anybody else gigging this weekend, have a great show, I definitely plan on it, got one more show booked after this one and then our bassist is moving, so I plan to make the best of it!

Rock On!

Sunday morning . . . going to do a service for some folks in Longview and a brief concert of our CD material afterwards.

Don't have any idea of the size of the audience or venue because I just got home from Kansas.

Don't matter none . . . I play for an "audience" of one anyways.

Have fun guys! We turned a request by our friends Choking Susan to open their show tomorrow night, we're trying to stick to one show a month. But I hate turning down a gig!

Well now I'll have to inquire as to why ?

We're booking our calendar as fast as we can.
Shaping up to be a good year.
I was even able to write the boys "official" JERICHO MARCH checks last week.
Felt good . . . felt really good.

We feel it's better to only do one show a month. If we play too much people will think they can come out anytime to see you and not show up. If we play once a month it builds up enough demand to make it worth it. The classic rock band is getting ready to gig too so I won't have enough time for more than that. Keeping up two bands is rough!

Man we had a huge gig sat night, it was a smaller place and they couldnt even let everyone in, I go outside and they had opened the doors and there were more people outside than inside, it was just crazy, sadly I dont have any pictures or video, there was too many people for me to even get my camera out. I actually thought about laying backwards with my guitar and surfing, it was that thick, of course knowing the folks there they would have dropped me and I would have broken my guitar, save the guitar at all cost, is my motto!

We have one more gig in another county the end of April, if its any better than the last two gigs it will be amazing.

George Im with Jimmy on not over booking your band, we got to a point where we would only book a venue every 3-4 monthes, if you play the same place all the time it takes away the special side of the event, I know you guys do different sorts of gigs.

5 years ago when I got back with my band, we made a plan to play in different countys. I had 5 countys we worked into, it worked great for us for a while til we just wanted to slow down a little bit.

Anyway rock on guys, I had a rockin weekend!

And I feel it in my shoulders, neck, and theres this strange ringing in my ears this morning, sounds like crickets!

Glad you had a good one JW.

We did as well.
When I first saw the place we were to play I was skeptical . . .
No, that's not true . . . I was like OH HELL NO
But once again I was proven wrong for thinking I knew anything.
Was small, we set the whole place up like we do our studio and ran sound with just our monitors set in front and in the back of the room.
There was a closet nearby that I stashed my Class 5 in so we had total control over the levels.
The activities began shortly after 9am and ended at 3pm with us running the sound for the whole event.
As a bonus we were invited to play / run sound for a much larger event in July, within about 10 miles of my home. :D

LOL, Jimmy the guy that took my place in Aint Yo Mama years ago, came over and played the last two sets, we do 3 one hour sets, so we had two guitars going which Im not used to and so many people were in there it was soaking the sound up so we both had to crank it, was great doing harmonys and stuff with another person instead of with my whammy pedal! But you put a couple of Mesas in a small room together, well the room isnt that small, but its kinda cut in two so we were on this corner stage with our amps beaming in on one another, when I walked out front the volume level was actually a lot lower than our stage level, sounded good, but it was extremely loud. even to my ears, I have4 tryed to stop putting my ears thru the torture I have thru the years.

I got home around 3 and was kinda wired from the gig, so I turned on motorcycle race and ate some to kinda wind down, when I got up later and turned the TV back in it was turned way way up! so I know we were a lot louder than normal, of course noone was complaining sat night so it was all good.

Glad you had a good gig, George, man from 9 am til 3 pm, that would be some weird hours for me, I dont ever come to life playing wise til around 10 pm, but different strokes for different folks!

Yes, doing a "Palm Sunday" worship service and a Jericho March concert after the meal / fellowship is a different animal entirely.
Not accustomed to even services being that early. With load out / up travel and all. Was a very long day.
