Hello, I have finally got it! Haha, I got a new guitar, whoo. I need to work on the amp though so I cannot get my hopes that high up, lol. Still looking for the amplifier. But I have a nice new guitar, got it really cheap too.

Check it out, it is an ESP Viper 50, it is a lower model on their list, but it plays very well. I cannot wait to hear it through a real good amplifier, if the pickups are not good I am just going to get them changed out with an EMG or something of that nature.

I am very happy with this, it is awesome. Wish me luck! Note also, it has 24 frets, which means I can play a better variety of solos (Many of the ones I play go up that high).

Looks to me a bit like a Gibson SG.
The odds are the pickups will be just fine. Just make sure the whole thing is set up properly by some one who knows what they're doing! Congratulations, now GET TO WORK!

Yep, it looks like an SG. I probably will get it setup by someone who knows what they are doing, may need some intonation adjustments. Perhaps fixing the fret wire at the 17th fret, it has a chip so bending the string is impossible (It just stops the bend and breaks up the sound, so that needs to be fixed). It was bought cheap because it was damaged, but nothing that cannot be fixed, or ignored, the electronics are fine and neck are fine, that is all that matters to me.

So yes, I am going to get to work!

I actually played one of those recently and thought it was a very nice guitar. Way to go and have fun!

Ditto on the pro set up, very good idea, will even make her more playable for you. string hight seem to be critical to sound and feel
I got two EMG on my strat, Bought her because she kept wispering in my ear at the shop one day, on second thought the metal pic guard not such a good idea, and dang it if fender didnt even pot two of the pic ups.
But for my level of play at this point I cant see dropping two grand on a guitar.

Very cool! Sharp looking guitar. For an amp, check out a B-52. I got the 100 watt with 2 12's, all tube and same tone and volume as my Marshall TSL but less than half the cost.

Sanshouheil, I agree, a pro setup will make my life easier probably. So I will get that done soon, and if not I will just learn how to do it on my own somehow, lol. Always good to know how to professionally setup a guitar. I am getting the stringing down finally, everytime I used to do it it looked crappy and fell out of tune easy, now I am pretty good. I know what you mean about not wanting to drop a ton of money on a guitar if you are not overly experienced. I would not pay for a $900 guitar right now, and there is one I wanted, but I am not good enough yet.

-if you know what yer doing... a squire can play just as good as a custom shop... an ex series can play like a jem...
-experiment with the nut/bridge/neck-joint... etc.
-(if you like more output like emg's) add a magnet or two to the p-u's
-never tried it but in theory it should work...
personally I HATE emg's but they have no substitute when shredding.

Thanks for the recommendations, MrMikeV.I have heard this before, that if you are good enough you can make any guitar sound good. We'll see how good I am then with a new amp.

It's true. I can.

Once made a plastic kid's toy guitar actually sound good in a Wal Mart when a friend said "betcha can't make that one sound good"...Surprised even me but I did, had 5 people watching after I played a quick song, they wanted me to play another. No way, that was enough for me, I put it down...

Cool looking axe you have there, ask around where you live, some of the musicians should know who does good work in your area and won't rip you off.

Yeah, I love this guitar. My hands are sore right now from working all day, so my typing is a bit slowed up, and I cannot play guitar, but I love it anyhow. I cannot wait to find the right amp for it.
