HowlinJ, is this the one you're talking about? The SVT Classic head with SVT 8 x 10 cab

If so, you're right. This thing sounds incredible! I still wouldn't want to haul it from gig to gig, or help the bassist who does. For me it would be special shows & large venues only for that one! They're expensive too. I know a guy who bought one for a recording session with his credit card. We laid down the bass tracks, and then he returned it for a full refund! Good trick if you're in the studio.....

*Condemned for cursing at James Brown*

Neh, lol. Yeah, I know, but he was not nice, but he was sure talented. I am not fond of his music though, but he had a lot of talent.

Peace out, GuitarAnatomy.

Scarlet'
Yup, that's the one. My bass player "Patch", had an older model.(had two channels if I recall correctly). They were designed to be used with two cabinets. By the way, each cabinet houses eight ten inch speakers, four of which are unpowered to redirect back sound pressure to the front. Ampeg pioneered bass amplification. They started out by designing a pickup to be placed in the head of upright string basses, hence the name "Ampeg".

G.A,
Your penitence for slandering the Godfathaofsoul is to pick up a copy of "James Brown Live At The Apollo" (some of the best R&B vocals ever). Now BACK TO WORK (we haven't forgotten about that G.E.D. test !)

Fine. I'll just take my custom fretless five string piccolo bass and my sedan sized amp and go home. And I'll take my 7/4 groove with the 20-minute upper register bass solo with me. Can anybody give me a ride?-Damn! That's more cash out of my pocket...

... You can't do this to me, please, anything but that! James Brown and GED work!? Ah, I am damned to Hell.

I can't handle both at once, it will kill me. :(

This sucks!

*He shakes his head, will do his work and then get studying. James Brown on the other hand will have to wait, fears he might rupture an ear drum listening to that stuff.*

Peace out, sign, The Suffering GuitarAnatomy.

or not playing notes when they should have played them. In a televised appearance while singing I Got You (I Feel Good) he called out in the middle of the song "I Got You" and pointed to one of his band members. He got so bad that one day his band came to him and said they could not afford to continue playing for him because he was fining them too much. He fired the entire band on the spot. What an asshole. I'm sure James never made a mistake in his life. Notwithstanding the fact that James was an ex-boxer if I was in his band and he fined me he would have to summon up his boxing skills and/or call out some serious body guards against me. Somebody would end up with a seriously broken nose or jaw. Later...

Cast another vote for the tuner, unless everyone is a perfect on pitch ear tuning master jedi things can get fubar stat. when I played bass seemed the guitarest always wanted me to tune an octive too high, we were just a bunch of kids then. small amps and speakers are a blesssing to the back and for transport, but a stage set with big equipment looks soooo cool. and if you dont use the fine system for the guitars the drummer throwing his extra sticks works for us. I'm thinking of makeing him a back quiver. shhwack, shwack, dang it that hurts.

all I can say is this fine schedule was most likely written by a LEAD/guitarist/songsmith/composer/producer/band spokesman. There should be a fine for putting the word LEAD before guitar or any words with a slash after!

If you watch him, he throws his hand toward another musician, off the side of the stage there is a Poindexter that is taking notes. He is adding the penalty's up. You have to realize that he was the hardest working guy in show biz, and he had a professional attitude toward his performance, and if you were LUCKIE enough to play on his stage then you had to perform up to his standards, if you didn't like the fines then do your job or leave. Paul McCartney only pays Union wages to the people he takes with him on tour or uses in the studio, His feeling is that having worked with him on your resume would bring you more money in the future. Now that's a cheap prick.

$10,000 at least bass players shouldnt need distortion.. its creepy and wrong and usually only guitar players suggest it.
