50 top Athletes

President Obama has hit the basketball court with Scottie Pippen, played a round of golf with Tiger Woods, and meticulously filled out March Madness brackets. And now, Sports Illustrated has named him one of the most powerful people in sports.

Earlier this week, Sports Illustrated included the basketball loving president in its list of 50 sports power players, ranking him as the 44th most powerful person in sports – higher than Michael Jordan and Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban.

The president has made no secret of his love of sports since taking office, often playing basketball with aides and other government officials and hitting the golf course with politicians like Speaker John Boehner and President Bill Clinton.

Obama fills out March Madness brackets for men and women’s college basketball and cheers for his hometown professional Chicago teams.

So he killed more gophers on the green than any other golfer in 2012 or what?

Sometimes I feel like I rolled out of bed on the wrong side during my sleep and woke up in a banana republic.

He is a NWO puppet with no experience nor policies of his own.

Nothing better to do . . .

The fact remains that he has turned around the economy, captured or killed many of our enemies and remains enormously popular. Unemployment continues to fall, home prices are rising and the stock market is at record highs. Yeah he's doing a terrible job.

People love a winner.
If McCain had done everything the same, the whole country would still be up his ass.

Besides what is going on with stocks over a recent, handful of days, he hasn't turned around sh*t in the economy.
Housing is coming up a little bit.
Unemployment figured haven't been very reliable for about 8 years now.

"He has turned around the economy" as a statement, is jackassery, and you well know it.

I've said it before, if your life hasn't been better since Obama took office there's a good chance you're a dumb ass. My IRA is almost back to where it was when the bleeding started, the housing prices in my city have gone up 8.5% in a year and I got one of the biggest bonuses and raises in my life this year. Sucks to be you.

Typical yuppie-talk.
"I got mine.
F*ck you."

Meanwhile the rest of the country is still deep in the sh!tter while Wall Street parties on.

Is it any wonder why conservatives think liberals are just a bunch of hippy-crits.

I guess I should get into the DBA business then. It's not like I'd have to do any big boy programming.

This only sounds racist to a racist. I thought I should post this so you can understand that it is a political statement and has nothing to do with racism, unless you are racist. In that case, anything will sound racist that doesn't fit your political agenda, at least that is the way libs think.

Here is the def, and it pretty much describes where we are under our Banana republic leader. Note that from the top is states that Banana Republic is a POLITICAL term.

Banana republic

Banana republic is a political science term for a politically unstable country whose economy is largely dependent on the export of a single limited-resource product, such as fruits or minerals. It typically has stratified social classes, including a large, impoverished working class and a ruling plutocracy that comprises the elites of business, politics, and the military.[1] This politico-economic oligarchy controls the primary-sector productions and thereby exploit the country's economy

The term banana republic was coined by the American writer O. Henry (William Sydney Porter 1862–1910 ) to describe the fictional "Republic of Anchuria" in the book Cabbages and Kings (1904), a collection of thematically related short stories inspired by his experiences in Honduras, during the 1896–97 period, when he was wanted in the U.S. for bank embezzlement.[3][4] In political science, the term banana republic is a pejorative descriptor for a servile dictatorship that abets or supports, for kickbacks, the exploitation of large-scale plantation agriculture, especially banana cultivation.[2] In economics, a banana republic is a country operated as a commercial enterprise for private profit, effected by a collusion between the State and favoured monopolies, in which the profit derived from the private exploitation of public lands is private property, while the debts incurred thereby are a public responsibility. Such an imbalanced economy remains limited by the uneven economic development of town and country, and tends to cause the national currency to become devalued paper-money, rendering the country ineligible for international development-credit.[5] Such governemnet by thieves is a kleptocracy; such a kleptocratic government is manipulated by foreign (corporate) interests, and functions mostly as ceremonial government that is unaccountable to its nation. The national legislature is, in effect, for sale, influential government employees illegitimately exploit their posts for personal gain (by embezzlement, fraud, bribery, etc.), and the resulting government budget deficit is repaid by the country's working people who earn wages rather than making profits.

And what do we export? Phony dollars backed only by the sweat of hard earned Americans. Every one of those phony dollars devalues your hard earned wages, savings, and property.

By the way jimmy, I saved your first post on this thread to show how totally detached from reality a liberal can get. :)

One thing that has always annoyed me...

Americans vote with their wallets, almost pathologically so.
It doesn't matter how great or terrible he has done in every other facet of the job, if the economy shows any improvement at all the president and his party can rely on re-election.
If not, "bye-bye".

People voted George H.W. Bush out for the wrong reasons.
They re-elected Obama for the wrong reasons.

It's always the economy.
And not even for average Americans.
If Wall Street is doing okay, that is good enough for them.
No matter how f*cked the rest of the country is.

It's really depressing.

OYE! we go round and round on this jimmy...

1) Housing: Those prices dropped because the BANKS wont finance larger sums... at lower rates. Meanwhile, the same people, who could not afford a house during Obama's first term, STILL cant afford a house, today... How do you figure the housing market improved. Call up any real estate office and ask the realtors when they plan their next vacation... Knock on your neighbor's door and verify that he's not answering it upside down...

2) Your IRA is back to the same numbers you are comfortable with... Unfortunately The VALUE of your IRA is floating around the bottom of the wall street toilet bowl like a cheese nacho turd after a Cinco De Mayo, drunk fest... Can you retire comfortably, right now, or even in the next 5 years on that fund...? I'm guessing "hell no" .

3) "Better Life now"? I Guess it depends on which side of collection you are on... Prisoners are living like kings... Tax agents are doing pretty good... If you think OBAMA"S term is better. then go quit your job, and see how long it takes you to get hired elsewhere. Its not about the skills, Jimmy, its about Corporate America getting punished ... It can no longer meet the demands of OBAMA's ridiculous demands to redistribute the wealth.
