Writing books, essays, music definitely can be productive if it benefits society. Money is simply a symbol that someone is interested in your work. It has recognized value in society and is rewarded with dollars.

Van Gogh was also highly productive creating over 2000 amazing paintings and sketches while suffering from severe mental illness. He lived under the care of others his whole life. Sadly his work went unrecognized until after his death. It is some of my favorite art works.

pro·duc·tive (pr-dktv, pr-)
adj.
1. Producing or capable of producing.
2. Producing abundantly; fertile. See Synonyms at fertile.
3. Yielding favorable or useful results; constructive.
4. Economics Of or involved in the creation of goods and services to produce wealth or value.
5. Effective in achieving specified results; originative: policies productive of much harm.

I think I may end up more like Vincent Van Gogh than either J.K. Rowling or Stephen Hawking.
A lot of my work is only commercially viable in a very small niche market.
There's an audience out there for it.
But, I ain't putting a down payment on a dream house anytime soon.

I think there is a point where , when we see a mass gathering of population, around the corpse of an unpopular person, the next thing to follow might be: "Ding Dong, the wicked witch is dead..."

The worse the dictator, the more committed the people will be, to arrive at his funeral, and be on time...

Dictator, hmmm?
Well, the international community monitored all of the Venezuelan elections.
Even his opponents concede that he won, and lost once, fair and square.
THEIR elections are now considered more legitimate and accurate than those in Florida or Ohio.

Here is a video describing their process (including some criticisms):

Jimmy Carter says: "Election Process in Venezuela is the Best in the World"

No, but I can produce photos of the tens of thousands the United states murdered. Perhaps we should call a spade a spade and impose sanctions on the terrorist USA?

We are actually more like pre-chavez venezuela that we want to admit.

Look at this Keystone XL pipeline...

It's sole purpose is to move the oil to a dock so that the big oil companies can sell it to the world market and get richer. What do americans get out of it? Risk, severe catastrophic risk. And what do we get for that risk? We get more Valdez's, more gulf rig explosions, but instead of affecting a small or large region, this could potentially toxify our largest water table in the country.

EVEN IF there was a way to make it 100% safe and guaranteed, I'd still be against it, for the simple reason that OUR resources are being taken and WE get nothing for it, except the luxury to buy it back at extremely inflated pricing. Yay.

Venezuela was like that.. all their oil being taken by big oil, shipped off to the world market, and the state/people got literally nothing for it, other than a few bought-off politicians who made out by turning their backs on the people. So how is that ANY DIFFERENT than the USA today? Same level of poverty (increasing by the day), check. Bought-off politicians, check. Big oil making all the profits, check. The people get zilch, check.

Is the american collective ass so numb from the pounding over the years that we no longer feel them shove it in and screw us?
