I think ALL monetary systems are a ripoff.

how would you know?
you don't have any money of your own.

Neither do you.
The banks print that monopoly money.
I wouldn't want my own money.
I'd look terrible on a dollar bill.

Don't even open that door JC. You are asking for a world of hurt.

I think Glenny nailed one reason right there.

not trying to be unsympathetic here Mikey,
but i know if a Man is denied productive work,
of almost any kind,
something dies in him, and his judgment is hardly to be trusted.

Would you say then that Stephen Hawking cannot be trusted?

JC that was a pretty brilliant statement...

But I think it will take everyone a minute to step back and understand it.

that's a jive and you know it.

in the world of theoretical physics he is viewed as productive.
whether his days are productive are not, I don't suppose you could tell one way or another,

I suppose you rejected his paycheck on account of it being phony?

His disability made him unable to perform his duties as a professor at Cambridge.
This at least freed him up to work on his own projects at his own pace, writing books and such.
He pretty much collects a pension whether he does anything at all or not.

Well, I work on music and art, at my own pace.
Funded by my disability insurance.
So, what is your problem?

well that's more than I know of mr hawkings finances,
as far as your conditions, I can only go on your constant complaints.
if you are a ward of the insurance company well you have my sympathy.
but if someone is feeding you
you should be grateful, not spend your days cursing the tits your feeding from.

Hmmmm, Stephen Hawking is a Physicist and best-selling author worth $20 mil at last count. I'd call that highly productive. Down right entrepreneurial.

Choose another example Mike. One of my friends actually meets with Stephen Hawking often. SH is quite brilliant but they disagree on many things.

If you lived in the Soviet Union, under the same circumstances, you'd still be bitching too.
Whether it is a right or left tit, if the milk is sour you gotta complain.

they would have already put a bullet in your neck.

Making money alone does not make you productive.
But, most of the money he has made was not from working at any job.
It was from his writing.
Which he is able to do because he doesn't work at a regular job.
Am I making any sense?

J.K. Rowling was made a billionaire from the Harry Potter books, which she began writing while living on welfare.
So, living on welfare allowed her the freedom to write and make a billion dollars, which she has largely given away to help the poor.
