Hey Mike,

I'd like to sell you the London Bridge for a dollar since you are so easily duped.

It will look nice in your living room next to your paintings of Hitler.

personally, i love the double standard....when a christian is guilty of some heinous offense the knee jerk response is usually "oh, well, ah....they're not a TRUE christian".

so, is that same slack to extended to muslims when they're guilty of some heinous deed? suuuure. as if.

Like I've said before, pointing to extreme examples is not a fair way of arriving at the truth.

Anyone who wants to paint Christians as somehow related to Hitler is a bigot. The quote put up comes from 1929...long before he had any real power.

Hitler used religion as a way of influencing public opinion in Germany for an election (like Obama), and Martin Luther's bigoted writings were easy propaganda. Luther repented of this bigotry before dying so there was at least an admission that he had been unfaithful to God by putting his prejudice into writing. None of his vulgar words can be found in the only authoritive book of the Christian faith...the Bible.

But it's a more fair comparison to attach an atheist to Stalin or Mao. I would only do that to push back against these extreme examples presented by bigots.

Here are the facts about charitable giving:

32% of all charitable giving comes from religious groups. We have no way of knowing how many christians are giving in the other categories, but it certainly would be a considerable number.

73% of all charitable giving comes from individuals, not corporation or foundations.

If you can handle simple math, that means that at least 1 out of every 3 dollars doesn't come from a rich person giving from their largess, but rather from simple people of faith doing so in anonymity.

Why bigots would try to impugn their character is beyond the pale. I don't need to understand bigots.

Simple logic escapes you, eh?

When a person who claims to be Christian does wickedly, they are doing so in contradiction to the tenets of their faith, and in rebellion to the God they claim allegiance to. Real christians distance themselves from such behavior and are often the first to act against the hypocrisy.

When a muslim kills innocent people for allah, they are fulfilling the demands of their "holy" writings without contradiction. Muslims themselves are the first to commend these people as heroes of the Islamic faith and hold celebrations in their honor as murderers.

One is hypocrisy and the other is required.

Actually...Its not a knee jerk reaction. Those who study Christian doctrine can tell you that Hitler is NOTHING about real Christianity. The Doctrine does not justify or condone Hitlers actions whatsoever. So yeah... He wasn't a true Christian... Hitler strapped on a label t hide behind. Using the cruel logic of Methany... If Kenny G straps on a guitar...does that make him a musician? LOL

I don't know enough about Muslim doctrine to speak to it, except to say, from what I did read...It ain't Christian either! :D

Yeah Hitler loved Christians.

Operation Dog Collar - a contingency plan to take out the Vatican.

Pastors who didn't sign a loyalty oath to the Nazis and Hitler were drafted. (with good results for the Soldat but often a death sentence)

But many signed. As Adolf himself put it, "Those swine will do anything to keep their miserable pensions."

He allowed Goring to create 20 some divisions of air force ground troops - who not surprisingly, got slaughtered in combat - because Goring didn't want "his" guys going to Church Parade.
