Because it's funny and you are unrealistic.

Cliff you want some good advice?
Here you go. You utter buffoon.

"Go play with ANYONE that will play with you, because that list is going to be short and if someone actually does play with you, be thankful and shut your mouth because until you really get reasonable, you are about as expendable as used Kleenex".

No one cares what you like. (that's the wonderful world of music)
You are looking for a niche that you can play a little and have a good time, the rest of your requirements mean exactly nothing.

I don't mean to hurt your feelings, but you best get realistic and do it quickly unless you want to be a solo act.

The reality of it is that I have played with a bunch of people now and it seems like every next person is worse and harder to deal with than the last one.

Every single person wants it their way, regardless of what you do in the scheme of things.

Find someone you can tolerate (or can tolerate you) and stick it in high gear.

When you are well established, you can call the shots but until then you are about as popular as the hen that lays the trapezoidal eggs.

You just need to find your niche and that has very little to do with "what you want". It's all about where you fit in..(don't go there, people.)

Also help me understand this: during the earlier stages of my search, on Facebook, and (earlier Myspace) I would get random friend requests from people but they didn't have the decency to leave a short note message explaining how they found me, and what they wanted. I would temporarily add them as a friend, send them a message asking what that person wanted, and whether or not they were liked a good selection of the artists I enjoy from the pop and soft rock genres.

Learn to think outside of the box. This music buddy I'm looking for was supposed to be someone who I invited over after classes ended to just hang out and play some good pop and soft rock covers, and learn some new music skills together, in addition to playing video games, and such.

This wasn't about pursuing ANY sort of career or me being someone who calls the shots, or being around someone who calls all the shots.

No one cares what I like? I care what others like, because I don't want to play with someone who hates every single song I can play, and vice versa. I would much rather play with someone who enjoys the artists or songs we are playing.

cliff it's a numbers game..just add them and don't worry about it.

Better to have a slew of "friends" than to ask a bunch of questions that no one wants to answer.

Treat each one as if they were uptight. People talk and they'll tell you what they want you to know, maybe even one will want to jam with you.

As far as your after school sessions? It doesn't matter, it's still a very similar process.

LOL You saying I don't think outside the box?

sh*t bitch, you never even saw the outside of the box let alone thought about it.

Cliffy, I'd slap you but I'd be afraid that it would splatter. lol

I don't want to play the numbers game. I want to add individuals who are within my area, and who give a good impression of who they are on their profile, and who I can take a little time to get to know as a person beforehand.

I would also much rather like to add friends who only have a small number of friends, like 20 or 10 friends rather than people who play the numbers game, and who are simply adding people to be popular.

All of this and more is done to prevent me from running into scams, and wasting people's time.

Ouch! Again, another situation handled the wrong way. What is up with these acusations? I have thought outside the box, and have tried to see things from the other person's perspective, but when I do, it doesn't work for me because that perspective is a little too serious, and a little too business like.

You're limiting yourself and that's why people are laughing. (besides you being gay)

You think that there are more opportunities than there really are.
WAKE UP, CLIFF.

There are those that do and those that talk about it.

Be a man of action...

I am a man of action. I'm just at a point where I don't have any new options to try, and the places that once showed a promise are now duds or are not as reliable as promised. Every place I go I run into some kind of setback.

Examples:

Church (running into guys around my age who play nothing but Christian music, and hate any other secular artists simply because it doesn't praise God or Jesus)
Posting physical ads at Guitar Center (not being able to monitor my ad, and stick around at the place and mingle, preferrably joining a small pop and soft rock musicians group)
Posting requests on Craigslist (not being able to talk to my audience as a whole and find out if any guys who enjoy playing pop and soft rock music frequent said place, also considering that Craigslist is more than just music, only a small fraction of people post there at any given time)
Baton Rouge Rocks, Bandmix (running into way too many people who are already out there trying to a form a band and who LOVES classic rock, hard rock, or alternative rock, but hates mainstream pop and soft rock music)

Remember, I'm trying to reach a certain audience for a reason. The reason for that is so I can have a long-term friend. Whether this music project becomes something big or not is unimportant.

If I were you, I'd write a very carefully worded ad on CL.

Let us here at BM read it before you post it.

Then post it and then hopefully, maybe you will get someone to make music with. (yikes) lol

LOL That sounds like your next tune...."Mingling at Guitar Center".
You like Weird Al? It could be similar. :D

No I don't like Weird Al. And for the thousandth time. I am NOT trying to use this site to reach my music buddy directly. I am ONLY using this to showcase my music. I need another tool to advertise it correctly, because the guy I'm trying to reach may be like me and may not want to pay just to contact someone.

Mike, please move on and forget about me. What you are currently doing isn't helping, and you've stated that you've run out of ideas around sometime earlier.

Cliff try not saying anything to people that you don't want to talk to, because if you talk to them, they will invariably talk back to you if for only entertainment value at the least...

Mike, you are a SOB but that was funny.. lol

I'm not a singer. That's essentially a singing competition show. I'm a keyboard player.
