I didn't say no one likes me, anywhere I go. I have come across non-musicians who like me during the time I went to Healing Place, Bethany, and Baton Rouge Community College, but I had to leave those places (and those friends behind) because I wasn't finding what I was looking for. A guy around my age who likes a wide variety of good pop and soft rock music, is a little bit more advanced than me and can teach me some new skills, (like mixing and recording, and songwriting) but is into a whole lot more than just music. Someone has moved beyond the "I'm trying to be cool and impress this group of people" stage, and is proud to be who he is.

Nearly every place I go to try to gain more knowledge about how to improve my search, or gain some knowledge about some lesser known pop and soft rock talent anywhere, not just in my city, I run into individuals who are not the smartest people in the bunch. I run into individuals who love to troll around on a message board, and who see something that's not the norm and make fun of it instead.

See? That's the kind of attitude I'm running into lately! Where are the individuals who are smart enough to focus on the question I ask, and who do not post responses like the above?

Where are the individuals who are smart enough to know that I'm smart and know what this place is used for, and understand what I'm trying to get out of this place?

Another thing that would help in reducing responses like this, is if the individual was responding during his free time, while relaxed, but still alert, and also if other people didn't post things about me behind my back, and actually did the smart thing, and asked questions instead of making rude assumptions about me, and made an effort to come off as a likeable guy.

People on these different music forums I've participated on wouldn't be so afraid of me, and I'd be a lot more receptive to their responses.

Again, READ the bolded words. That's NOT at all what I'm implying. I'm not looking for ANY hand holding. Just individuals who are much more helpful.

And remember, just because I'm gay, I am NOT looking for a boyfriend. Why are people like that? When they hear someone is gay, they automatically assume that the person is looking for sex?

Conversation is NOT over by a long shot. Come on, I would like to find out why I keep running into the typical shallow crowd? People who claim to be talented musicians, but who have VERY limited musical tastes, and who think pop and soft rock is inferior to their alternative or hard rock style or who think they are all that because they've played in several bands, as opposed to someone who plays by himself and maybe played with one or two other guys as collab buddies?

Are you implying that I'm an unlikeable guy?

Nope! However, the attitudes of the typical people I've come across on this search gives that impression. Because as I've stated, a lot of the people who have responded to my posts, respond WAY too quickly, and don't ask questions to understand me better as a person, and don't give a chance for my intended audience to respond.

For example, in the last topic, I wanted to learn about some guys around my age who play solo and who enjoy playing a wide mix of pop and soft rock music, and thus find some good music channels I could subscribe to on YouTube.
