YIKES.. lol

Ok be gentle./.

1) Yes you are right gents. The S215V's are a 500/1000/2000 at 4 ohm load.

2) The powered mixer is an old 12-channel Yamaha EMX300. I'd get rid of it but it's warm like you wouldn't believe and so far it's been trouble free. AS far as I know, it's a Max output of 250W@ 4ohms. I am not really sure. (gulp)

I figured that after I picked up a power amp, I'd run the S215V's as mains and I'd use the SV115IV's as monitors, via FB1 and FB2.

I really don't want to run MONO anything if I don't have to.

Having said that, someone just offered me a QSC RMX 2450.
It's more $ I don't have, but would that solve my power woes?

That last thing I want to do is fry everything I own.

As for the test on Monday, I feel like my notes are incomplete and I may fail. I hope I can retest or get graded on a curve. lol

My small Dj system is 4 Peavey S115 speakers and 1 Peavey IPR=1600 power amp.

Even outdoors I have yet to use its full power without being told to turn it down some. Very clean sound and very very loud with music playback.

You are right RG. With a max output of 129db SPL the Yamaha S115V cabs and a quality amp produce a LOT of sound. You need a pretty big rowdy crowd to need more than that.

Well that didnt print like I thought it would, but Capt a QSC SMX2450 will develop around 700 watts per side at 4 ohms, should run those 2x15s without any issues that I can tell.

Capt I found a page that tells how the Yamaha Mixer works, I cant get it load here, but it looks like you could hook a quarter inch wire from the EQ outputs on the mixer and run them to another power amp. From how it reads you will still have power out of the speaker outputs of the mixer, so you could run the 1x15 cab off the speaker output, and run a wire from the EQ output into another mixer. That way the eq is inline before you go to another amp and will be active in the signal chain.

Hope this helps

Yikes very confusing..

All i know is that the yamaha mixer has a 1/4" for the power amp.

I'd run the power amp into the mixer and then connect the 2x15's as mains and the 1x15's are monitors via fb1/2.

Yeah that QSC is looking good right now.
Gotta save my ducats.

Capt dont run the power amp into the mixer, I think you want to run from the mixer to the power amp and then on to the speakers.

Look at the jacks on the back of the mixer closely.

Yeah I think I meant what you said, I am just nearly delirious from technical jargon and utter bs. LOL

JW I'm freaking. LOL

Suddenly my shitty Kustom PA with the 2 columns of stone seem unusually friendly. (if I blow them up, no one cares including me. lol)
