more ignorance from the village idiot. the japanese are great instrument builders....their copies of american instruments were so good in the 70's that at half the price of their american counterpart....people couldn't buy 'em fast enough.

and today...they're quite valued and sought after.

damn, you ARE proud of yer iggnence aintcha son?
The "70s? Really? Price is what motivated, not quality that you don't know. You sell out with price. That's your definition of quality. You play a Japanese piano with technology stolen from Americans. Hope you're proud! Wave your flag again !

Mine is a '72 American made Strat. I recently bought a 2009 Strat Deluxe, American made as well but where a guitar is made is not as important as who plays it.

wow, you really ARE thick aren't you?

those japanese instruments were better made than the crap FENDER and GIBSON was churning out at the time. and better than a lot of stuff they're still churning out.

the fact that they weren't gouging suckers who believe all things created in the US must be the best is besides the point. quality is quality whatever the price.

do some research on "lawsuit guitars" or "matsumoko" or Ibanez sometime and perhaps you'll learn something. perhaps you won't come off so clueless next time. (likely you will)

actually, no i don't play a piano. american or japanese.
and newsflash....america didn't invent the piano.

wow....your ignorance is staggering.

Redeemed! I had a Japanese Strat. Would not trade any guitar I have to have that one back. And yes, I bought it new. It was not previously abused. Knocked out of tune every 4th bar.

As many strats american, japanese, mexican, whatev.....will do. for an american company, FENDER has always been remarkably lax w their quality control.

that's why no two strats, teles, pbasses, jbasses are quite the same. some are great...some not so much so.

could be your's was a dog ...or perhaps you're just clueless as to how to properly set up a gtr.

You can tune a piano if it's technology is American, but not an idiot that can't tune a stringed instrument.

I had a Mexi strat in the 90's.. it was a dog from day 1. I also had a mexi tele which was a solid and well built guitar. Depends on who made it on what day I suppose.

Japan guitars from the 70's and 80's though were remarkably high quality and my Japan-made Kramer is no exception.. That thing has played great for years. The american kramers are fantastic also. I would argue that my Kramer from Japan is better made than any gibson or fender product post 1980.. just my opinion, of course.

What it comes down to is quality control. Some companies do better than others.

with one exception every FENDER i've owned was american made. the one exception is an early 80's japanese made J-Bass. i'd put it's build quality up there w any american jazz bass i've owned or played.

most every instrument i own is american made.

the exceptions:

'77 Epiphone BG440 mando (Matsumoko built) made in japan
late '70s japanese Washburn HB35
Peerless Monarch archtop made in korea
Eastman 803 15/CE archtop made in china (unbelivable build quality!)
'80 Warwick Stage One Streamer..german engineering at it's best
and my latest acquisition PARIS SWING GG42 good build quality for a mid priced $600 Asian (chinese) gtr

i bought these instruments not because they were cheaper than american instruments but because they all play well, sound good, are well built, and yes....because they look good.

point being....that stringed instruments are like people. best not to draw conclusions based on simplistic generalizations such as where they're from.

Wow! I turn my back for 2 days, and you guys turn this into a musical thread!

Kudos.

I love my 78 Les Paul. Listened to Santana's Black Magic Woman, yesterday. I don't care what guitar he was using, I totally disagree with his politics...
But the little inflections and nuances he inserted are so subtle... Now that's being a master. He is not alone. Just saying.

jimmydanger wrote:So you should be able to shoot illegal aliens? Or politicians who are trying to change laws? Is that why you need guns Crunch? Not to hunt or protect your home? But to enforce your own vision of law? I can see why you guys are afraid of gun control, most of you are so crazy you wouldn't be allowed to own weapons if the right controls were in place.

Now back to topic. You diverted the whole topic Jimmy. Of course you don't just shoot illegal aliens, or any one for that matter. Of course you just don't shoot politicians for ANY REASON. That would be Anarchy. That would also be an insult to the greatest system of self governance ever devised by mere mortal men.

However... History has shown way to many times that who ever has the guns has the power. Go ahead poo poo it. You're supposed to be the educated one. Is Not that why politicians need the backing of guns. The military, national guard, so many agencies controlling every aspect of American life. Is it so that some one who is entrusted with the role of leadership... is also allowed to enforce their unilateral, personal vision of what the law should be?

I can see why you are so afraid of NON gun control Jimmy. It stops people such as Diane Feinstein saying it is O.K. for her to have a full carry conceal pistol license in CA... But it not O.K. for any one else too.
It is O.K. to enforce a national health care bill... But exempt themselves.
Government is not supposed to create different classes of people under our society... YET IT DOES.

Now the funny thing is the Vice President... The man you helped re-elect...
Just went on national TV and advocated... Breaking the law, and advocating extremely reckless behavior. "Just blow a few rounds off your balcony, that will stop em!"

I am astounded that you would stoop to calling any one a crazy a gun nut when you either have no understanding of the 2nd and 3rd amendments or you have a much larger agenda that includes your unilateral vision of the laws that should be enforced.

Sorry Jimmy... Good luck with that!

Just to add an exclamation point...
Our vice president... The 2nd highest office in our country... The man in charge of fact finding and putting together gun control recommendations.

Here he is advocating breaking the law, and reckless use of a firearm.
