The ingredients are there to do whatever you want to do. Why ruin that with a label?
They will take your copyrights and sell you your own music for a few cents less than they sell them to your fans, cutting your throat. You won't get any of it, of course. You'll also have to manage and book yourself, because labels don't help you do that, though the new "360 deals" they offer demands a percentage of every penny you make at gigs too.
Record companies are GONE, bro. Forget them and get on with life. Be excellent and that will be enough to have an excellent adventure.
