When bands call them selves heavy metal, but wont accept metalcore or punk singers.. They are just about this same thing right? Or "We're a heavy metal band but we hate metal/screamo." Does this irk anyone else?

metalcore sux, hardcore sux, emo sux, screamo is awful and Punk is worse yet.
Heavy metal can be tastefully done, it just usually isn't.
+1 for "I think it's you".
Decent musicians cringe when they hear that hardcore, chromatic crap.
I know some people like it, but then again some people like a concussion as well. (just smash your head into a brick wall, it's quicker)

My autistic son has dented chalkboards with his head, put his head through a wall in our house, broke three windshields with his fist, and the top edge of the roof of my car looks like hail damage from his head, and he's NEVER worn a helmet.
That's why they wear the helmet.
I used to work with behaviorally challenged kids and we had a few with the head gear.
The one kid threatened to bite my hand. I just looked at him and told him "if that's what he had to do to be ok, I'd be ok".
And he let my hand go.
I never felt such sadness from anyone or anything yet.
Someone asked me if I could "cry" on cue.
I said "sure thing", all I have to do is to think about that kid.
