Actually Peg its quite comfortable volume wise. I put two floor monitors one on the drummer and one on the singer, then fly two monitors at head level on my side and the bassist side, and while we are playing I can hear the singer just clear as a bell.
Im way past being the loudest guitar player in the area, in fact many of my old friends are suprized when they sit in on gigs, and comment about my volume. I think Ive learned to get a pretty good tone out of my equipment at a reasonable volume, but thinking about it, we are probably louder than most cover club bands, but its not deafening.
In the past when we have played in there, we set up with the window on the end of the room behind us, and what little video I have of that sounds better, but sat night there was a Supercross Race on TV, me and the drummer both raced dirt bikes thru the years, so we had the tv on so we could watch the races while we were playing.
All the guys love playing in that room, its very comfortable. We hardly ever practice, so most of the time is BSing about stuff thats happened over the years, we also got some fried chicken from a local place and pigged out, just had a great day.
