One day, there was a certain young lady who, not knowing what she was getting into, plugged in a mike for a low-quality test-recording, and posted it; looking for musicians.
She was booed and ridiculed off this site.
Ok, that was a some time ago.
She didn't quit. She took a natural ability, developed it, and RAN with it. She's been making continual public appearances.
I just visited the page of a professional music studio, and listened to a professionally recorded song by her. Wow.
She definitely has what it takes, and will be recording more songs for a CD.
She went from neophyte to pro in a matter of months. Her best decision was to leave Bandmix, which was just attacking her.
For her, Bandmix was more of a hinderance than a help.

Hmm... Perhaps the criticism is too hard on some of these individuals. Personally, this place helps me immensely. I am very happy I signed up. But, look, good for her. She did not let this place hinder her abilities, that is great.

Just because we say they need to work on something does not mean they will not make it. We are just giving advice.

At any rate, peace out, GuitarAnatomy.

Yeah, but GA, you missed that particular thread. It was in the nature of vicious personal attacks, and definately not constructive criticism.

Oh, I see now. No, I do not agree with anything beyond constructive criticism. If you are out to "crush" someones dreams, then you are just an asshole. I do not go for that, you do not knock people down, you help them get to where they are going.

In order to make contact a little easier you might want to consider putting your email address as part of the information that everyone can see. Take a look at how I set myself up. Sorry. still no sound clip yet, mia culpa...working on it

That's unfortunate, but it's really the nature of the beast isn't it? I'm new to this site but I've seen people ripped to shreds elsewhere online and it ain't pretty. But more often I've seen people be very supportive and helpful when the person posting material is also professional and willing to accept reasonable criticism. unfortunately you can't keep the wingnuts off the internet, but that isn't the fault of the site.

I've seen that too, and it really blows. People who just by nature feel the need to tear others down have some deep reservations about their own worth - or no sense of it at all.

I've had 3 replies to my bandmix ad. Met up with all 3 of them and jammed. Hit it off and playing with 1 of them regularly. We should be ready to go out & make some money real soon. I'm happy with this site.

Based on my success I would like to have a link to this site on my YouTube page. Am I allowed to do that?
Peace

I too have had good fortune with bandmix; went thru several auditions some of them sooo much better musicians than I, others could not keep up with the beat, or just wasnt there thing. Now we have a Drumer and a Bass player whom are just like old friends. but you gotta work at it search and contact man, dont wait for them to come to you.
