Funny I had a call from a guy I used to play with yesterday, his guitarist had just quit, he was going on and on,, said this guy plays a LP and uses a Marshall just like you. I said man, Im sorry your guy left, but dont take all of that out on me. I have a gig with my band on one of the nights you guys are booked, so I couldnt do that one, but send me a song list and I might be able to fill in a few gigs if need be. He got mad at me about that! Like Im supposed to just drop all the things Im doing to join up with him. I dont understand people emotions when it comes to music. So far he hasnt sent me a song list, but I did send him the phone number of another guitarist that I know that isnt in a band and is looking for a group.

He had told the band he was leaving for career reasons. They had told him they were looking for a replacement as a result no one understands why he got mad and just quit like that. He definately burned a bridge and gave himself a bad reputation for leaving the way he did.
I am enjoying this new guitar. I am amazed at how stable these PRS guitars are! I mean when you tune them and play the crap out of them they don't go out of tune. Last night I learned "Stoned In Love" (Journey) and "Hot Blooded" while I play along with the original recordings I am blown away by how close this guitar sounds in comparison with the recording.

I've never played a PRS, but the ones I've seen have wide necks - how do you like it compared to your usual Strat?

Mike, they come in wide, medium wide, and medium thin. The medium thin is similar to a Les Paul neck and it feels AWESOME! It is so balanced and smooth the body of the guitar fits against your waste so natural. They are a REAL PLEASURE to play. Very easy guitar to play in fact I'm afraid I might get spoiled. Last night when I got home from work I started running through songs on my strat because it was out and in the stand. It needs new strings and I couldn't get it tuned to suit me. So I pulled the PRS out of its case and started playing it. All I can say is PHUK THAT STRAT! but seriously I'll bring it to the gigs and use it for "Lights" and some of the funk stuff we do!

I had gotten my strat back out a couple of weeks ago, and played it for a few days, but then I picked my LP back up and the strat is back in the rack!

Yes John it has coil splitting on the tone control. You pull up on it and you have kind of a strat sound. Seriously the only reason I need the strat now is for the whammy. Eruption really has to be played on a Strat or strat style guitar. I swear that PRS as I stood there playing last night actually feels good against your waste. For a moment I almost got a chubby!

John, my boss PS5 Super Shifter has a whammy function. It just is not the same as the real thang! that PS5 is amazing. It is a Harmonizer, octive divider, whammy pedal, surf style emulater, hell it even makes a 6 string sound like a 12 string! Below is a cheesy demo, the harmonizer function does SOoo much more!

Haley, I use my whammy for a few things, it has a couple of presets and I leave them on an octave drop and a 5th. The octave drop sounds cool hitting the low E string at the end of songs, I use the harmony on leads.

It has a detune function, I use it for a chorus, you can increase the sweep of the chorus the further down you push the pedal.

I love the 2 octave up setting, I use it for that RATM song Killing In The Name, I also use it for long delay sounds, ala the wierd sound section of Whole Lotta Love.

Its a cool pedal, but your right it doesnt replace a whammy bar, but most people dont even know, in fact when I do the drops at the ends of songs, guys that play will often ask how did you do that.

I just have the songs that I use in the set list strategically placed where I don't have to reach down during a set. I like that function of being able to set it with your feet. No haley its a single pedal, but it has two touch pads.

One is a by pass, cuts it off basically, if you hold that pedal down for a few seconds it sets it to two presets. The other button lets you toggle thru the settings.

Most of the people I know like the other whammy pedals, they have the dial, and I dont think they have the presets, I was given my first one as a gift years ago, and it started cutting up on me so I found another one on ebay. I think I gave $150 for it. I also have two Bad Horsie Wah Wahs, ones a spare.

My guys are coming to the house sat afternoon and we are going to do some playing, dont know how many more times we will be able to do that, plus we have a gig next weekend. Im looking forward to it. When we get together to practice sometimes we just get into these crazy extended jams, some of the funner stuff we play!

Are you talking about the PRS guitar? The neck is rosewood with an ebony fret board the body is mahagony with a AAAA flame maple top it is Marroon all metal is gold plated. it has1 toggles switch, 1 volume and 1 tone the tone knob is a push/pull coil splitter it is simply the best guitar I have EVER laid my hands on! The reason I asked if you were talking about the guitar Dane is because the conversation you quoted above is about my harmonizer pedal and Johns whammy pedal!

LOL we all get woodies when we play, not sure if its alder or not, I like to think of mine as OAK!
