Personally, I love hanging out with musicians. Sometimes drummers too. :-)

We're a mixed bag of assholes and gentlemen here at bandmix. Anyone who can maintain their faith in this kind of atmosphere is a real believer, and anyone who promotes a flimsy religion will be shot full of holes by the gun control crowd. As a christian who is also a musician, I like that a lot.

All musicians start out as liberals and some of us eventually mature into thinking adults LOL

But I want a forum to be real people saying what is really on their mind. I hate interference from "moderators" because being moderate sucks the life out of a passionate conversation.

I prefer talking to people who disagree with me IF (a big IF) they are at least intellectually honest.

The various shades of color are what makes life interesting.

Instead of heavy moderation, a separate political and religious forum (PARF) has worked well to contain the mayhem on other boards. I prefer this approach and it can be self policed. If you don't want it, stay in the kids pool. If you enjoy the heat of battle, jump on in and gouge away.

In all fairness to BANDMIX we do have provided different subjective headings in the Forum Index.

Why would anyone even bother to join after checking the forum ?
Seems like the many posters are here simply to spew rhetorical BS and / or
Logging in to just take shots at people.
The mods should take out the trash.

:)

Actually that's what I love about the forum. It's a free-for-all where every assertion is challenged.

I hope they never find moderators. I believe we police ourselves eventually. We'll have to put up with views we don't agree with and accept that it isn't the end of the world for someone else to be wrong or say something stupid.

That's what being in a band is like...why not the forums?

Exactly, Ted! I keep saying, nobody walks a way from their PC, bleeding (Except Jimmy Danger, when hes having his period ) OMG! did i just post that on this forum..?? . Whhoops! Lets see now... Yes...C# is that way when the music goes up...D-flat is a c# when the music goes down... Flats are not to be confuse for sharps when the music stays horizontally level...

Yes Just Now, George.. Thanks Bro...

FYI The BM posting cycle is kinda whacky... I have seen a new topic posted with no responses , so I respond and post, thinking I am the first responder...Later i find out I'm # 32 at the bottom of the next page LOL!

Anyway, I Think I have lightscribe. I also created a standard cd booklet using MS publisher. (4.5" x 4.5 ") It has the graphics, the lyrics, the creditts, etc. (I have to get thicker jewel cases.) and the cover page of that booklet is also the cover for the cd graphic. (Posted as my avatar.) Check out the color and the B&W promo photo (on my profile photo album)

There's a little more to it than just "GENERAL CHAT"

It also says "All users can post to this Forum on general music topics."
In the end the posters make it what it is good and or bad.

Just sayin...

Now Jahva - there you go again...being all rational and sh*t... 8)

For my part I don't care much for the political stuff - it not only brings out my worst side - it brings out everyone's worst side. I fear this country is divided in a way that does not suggest a happy future.

I particularly don't like name calling. But that's just me! Right bitches?!

What kind of paper did you use for your insert? The paper used in pro CDs is very thin, but strong and glossy, I've never been able to find paper like that at Staples.

I dont understand people being offended at something that you dont have to read or even look at. To me the fact that someone makes a comment like that just means they enjoy it in some way.

Ive learned to not bother with things, and not let them bother me. I respect everyones opinions, because we all have different points of view.

To me the solution is start your own forum somewhere and regulate the content to death.

Just my 2 cents
Well invested 2 cents. What do we get for a dollar? There are those that chase posts like thy are the All Knowing. They don't respect the content with intellect. Just more Jr. high type attacks that reflect their reasoning, a lack of knowledge. Like it or not, politics are vested into music. Ask Arlo or Bob

Well if the members cant control themselves ....
Whoever paid for and organized this web site didnt do it for the heck of it.
It was to make a $.
By getting people to pay for memberships.
I would nurture the musical threads and weed the negative. Because I want to make money ... and it certainly wasnt just to give some a place to indulge in personal attacks/political rantings / and general BS'ing.
Letting people use it as their personal soapbox just drives away potential members. Seen it over and over.
Seems counter productive to me.

SO Lets say BM kicks me out "weeds" me, like you say. Fine, I will start my own service and call it "Band redux" and offer an uncensored forum. Only a matter of time before my competitors drop off... .
