all of us 30 somethings that have been playing since we were kids need to rise up and initiate a revolution. in china the elderly are revered. mind you were no where near elderly. cum on guys it's our time . we have money we have insane abilities we just have to wake up and do something about it. I do not want to look back on my life and be sad. who amongst shall lead a revolution. I 'm sure as hell gonna try. Write me let's see what happens :x

*Coughs* Well, since I am only 19 I guess I cannot be considered old. But I am a great musician, we younglings can take on you oldies any day. Just let me like go into the future 20 years and steal my abilities then from myself and come back with it somehow... Lmao.

Neh, just kidding around. But a revolution of older musicians? Um, well half the bar bands I have been around have older musicians, I do not know how anything would change. I think older musicians are pretty well respected. I know I respect you guys immensely.

You guys must be great musicians, it is only logical really, you have been playing since before I was born, lol. If I was playing over a decade I think I would be talented too.

P.S. Unless you guys are over 60 I do not consider you old anyhow. *Shrug*

Peace out, GuitarAnatomy.

The first thing you need to do is put up some audio on your page. People around here won't take you seriously unless they can hear what you sound like.

... I hope that was not a direct attack on me. Because I do not recall saying anything bad, other than some jokes, that would deem me as a prick.

Hey, da Skunk, I saw your MySpace page - it looks like you paid your dues, alright.
.
So, you must know a lot of people are all talk and no action, eh?
Ya gotta remember, that no one here knows you, yet.
That's all, man
.
And the folks here also like to know what kind of music you play and all.
.
So; how ya doing?

I hope it wasn't either because G.A. didn't say anything to deserve that.

i dont care who you have played with amigo...

pick on someone your own size...i havent been 19 for a hell of a long time....

jokes aside you will get your props if you have good tunes...
but acting like "caeser" and implying that G.A is a prick wont win any hearts or minds.....ya know.

Dagnabbit! Them dern whippersnappers are stealin' m' spotlight!

Uh oh.... sounds like someone wants to be young again. Music is, and has always been for people of all ages. Some people confuse being a musician with being a rock star or hip or whatever.

This sounds like the "musical" equivalent of the guy who peaked back in high school when he had all that glory on the football field, and now he's bald, fat, and in a miserable marriage. The Al Bundy of the music scene. Sad

As far as a revolution is concerned......
A revolution is a rotation, a circle, and therefore a repetition, a retread.
Boring...
Try evolution. Evolve, grow, progress, move forward in a straight (or wandering) line.

Peace & chicken grease

Is it so much of an age thing as it is a genre thing? Which genre are you wanting to tackle, there, "da skunk?" The last time I checked, many influential and top bands are at least in their late 20's. Besides, the pace of music has always been set and driven by the youth of a genre. It's got nothing to do with your age so much as the quality of your writing, the genre, who you know, etc. Of course all of that is to an extent but your revolution certainly isn't going to be attainable through musician messageboard postings. Get out there and sell yourself, man! Your ability and music will speak for itself and if it's not good enough to begin this revolutions you seem to desire, then... all I can say is acceptance can be a difficult thing sometimes.

What it is, is that the primary age of music listeners roughly equals the primary age of the musicians.
.
You don't have to be good, you don't have to know much at all, and you don't have to be on any 'cutting edge' to be a successful 'musician' nowadays.
.
If your audience is in the 20s, then most of them are going to want to see musicians in their 20's.
.
And, if you ACT like what you're playing is really wonderful, then most people in the audience will eat it right up.
It doesn't matter if you stink, as long as you don't stink too badly.
If you look cool, and act cool, and have the proper promotion - that's 80% of the battle, right there.
It's not about the music anymore, is it?
.
It seems to be mostly about image.

fellas fellas fellas lets get straight . i'm not an anyshape an arogant prick. i sure ash hell was not talking about our youth but the 30 yr old guys. seemm like we are the ones that do it to our selves. we become content(in general) and lose that drive that we had in our teens and twenty's. i have to. ive lived for my children the last 4 yrs of my life. it made i guess satisfied makin 65,000 a year two cars a house blah blah blah. thats what i mean as a revbolution. replace secruity for the ability to do what i love and of course i alwasy made more money. off to work at 6:45Am it sucks, finish up later
