Good riddance. Although I did see an awesome Trower show there once.

Almost forgot, I also saw The B-52s there in 1980 before they really blew up. Other than that Harpo's was a poorly run heavy metal place in a bad part of town, a musician was killed there in the parking lot. I will not miss it.

It could be cleaned up and turned around.

The Gold Dollar was a former drag bar with a dangerous history to it.
It was pretty bad before it was bought and turned into a punk venue.
Had a lot of good times there.

First you would have to clean up that neighborhood, and to do that you'd have to clean up the city, and we all know that ain't happening any time soon.

We played at the Gold Dollar back when Jack White was playing there. It had weird acoustics. I think the Old Miami was/is a much better place to play in the Cass Corridor.

The Old Miami is okay, I guess.
I got dicked around by them before though.
The Gold Dollar was much nicer to play in.
I made more money there too.

I also played there around the time Jack White did.
But, did you play WITH Jack White?
I passed up on that, regretfully.
But, I played with His Name Is Alive there, though.

I think the acoustics in most clubs are pretty bad.
But, then, we always had shitty mixes too.

Never played with Jack White, but I met Meg. Nice lady.

The Old Miami has the strongest drinks too! It's kind of a hipster spot being close to Wayne State but that's cool, those people spend money. Lots of good times spent playing there, ImpalerFests, SmashFests, etc. We recorded a live CD there that turned out very good.
