Me too John, but wait until we do file and see how much more we have to pay because of reduction in deductions and tax credits! it ain't gonna be PLEASANT! all those that voted for Obama will have to face the same realization!

Hell, me having to pay more will almost be worth hearing and seeing their reactions. Just look at Kramer's reaction.

Kramer as a result of getting 50% of last years refund how much do you intend on spending on musical gear this year? My point is A VERY large % of americans are not going to be spending those refund checks on the extra's they can't buy during the year. As a result retailers are going to lay off employee's and CLOSE down their biz. thus the shinkage of the tax base that pushes our economy over the edge. This is what US conservatives have been saying, EVERYONE is going to pay more in taxes there is NO other way out. It is Obama's economy now and he CAN'T blame Bush for it!

I think the answer is already obvious. I have a current fiscal cliff I'm personally hanging onto by sheer will more than anything else. I will catch up on monthly bills, all of which I'm a month or more behind on.

Am I reading you correctly that it's my fault someone loses their job because I won't use it to carelessly buy a new guitar and amp? It's almost ironic in a way- I make about 2% more than I did two years ago, but by my best estimate my cost of living has risen about 31%, which I've managed to dumb down to about 21% by dropping 401k contributions, healthcare, cable tv, home phone, and dramatically reducing grocery spending, which means going from fairly healthy eating to eating ramen most days.

Two years ago, my ends met - barely, but they met. No longer- I'm still falling behind month after month, and it's increasing because food goes up this week, car insurance goes up next week, and rent will surely go up this spring when I hit renewal.

Sadly, the money I'm getting back won't even get me to balanced, but it will be close enough to buy more time.

lib·er·al/ˈlɪbərəl, ˈlɪbrəl/ Show Spelled [lib-er-uhl, lib-ruhl] Show IPA
adjective
1. favorable to progress or reform, as in political or religious affairs

This is what I mean when I say liberal. Someone or group that believes the constitution should be reformed and changed to fit their agenda. Thats the difference to me I DON'T think it should be changed because that is the very basis of what this country was built on and what made it great.

I get what you are trying to say, but I just don't see it that way. I don't recall him ever called the rich evil or any such thing- it's common knowledge that wall st funded both his election campaigns, and that in return he instructs the DoJ to look the other way at the crimes (not just him, he's simply a small cog on a big wheel IMO).. so I'd lump him into that class of rich people as soon as anything else.

Class warfare is a really strong term that sounds like something fox news invented. You can call it that, but there is a very strong belief among the wealthy that anyone who is poor is lazy and undeserving. There is a strong and growing belief among that class that they shouldn't have to pay anywhere near their fair share of taxes- simply based on the tax rates for the most wealthy over the last 50 years. There's a very obvious system in place that takes advantage of the poor, both in areas of public moneys and private, where wealthy people are getting ever wealthier by simply overcharging poor people and taking advantage of their plights. All of these things are with no regard for "common" good or apathy towards who gets hurt in the process.

It is only called "Class Warfare" when the poor fight back.

From Wiki

Liberalism
(from the Latin liberalis)[1] is a political philosophy or worldview founded on ideas of liberty and equality.[2] Liberals espouse a wide array of views depending on their understanding of these principles, but generally they support ideas such as free and fair elections, civil rights, freedom of the press, freedom of religion, free trade, and private property.[3][4][5][6][7]

John F. Kennedy defined a liberal as follows:[9][10]
...someone who looks ahead and not behind, someone who welcomes new ideas without rigid reactions, someone who cares about the welfare of the people — their health, their housing, their schools, their jobs, their civil rights, and their civil liberties — someone who believes we can break through the stalemate and suspicions that grip us in our policies abroad, if that is what they mean by a 'Liberal', then I’m proud to say I’m a 'Liberal'.

All that being said, what's wrong with being a "liberal"???

Already here.
Your kid is worth $500 next year.
If you don't have healthcare, there's a $250 penalty. That doubles every year if you don't maintain some kind of healthcare.

That's all from the tax offices mouth.

Doesn't sound like much will change for me. I haven't had any dependents in years, and have health insurance. If they get rid of the deduction for mortgage interest I could have a problem.

You guys are funny... You refuse to see the truth... Haley does...

You voted for it, you got it.

Even funnier is the fact that you don't have guns to feed yourselves...
Not even a duck gun... Just in case you go hungry.

The EIC no longer applied to me, apparently the bar moved or something
the child tax credit is now $1000, period. No additional disability tax breaks applied. Last year I think the CTC along with disability credits made it somewhere around $3800.

I think that fiscal cliff deal had more suckage in it than any journalists let on about  or maybe it was just changes by the IRS? I dunno.

So how did you make out?

I cant feel any sympathy. I have to pay out about 6k... It must be becuase I 'looked" like a rich person or something...

I am going to use hypotheticals as an example here. Someone I know wink, wink owned a furniture manufacturing co. in 2000 they made 300k said person paid 100k in income tax. Said person paid taxes that year equaling More than 90% of Americans make! Said person or persons worked and sacrificed 24, 7, 365. Now according to the current communist administration said person is rich and "needs to pay their fair share" do you see the irony here? Now for a moment lets reverse the situation. Say YOU were said person that paid 100K in taxes, not to mention that you made the sacrifices and CREATED 50 jobs. I am willing to BET folks that you KNOW WELL on this site make that much (200k) and claim well it is not going to affect me! LMFAO! Personally I can't wait for that mystical someone to get their tax bill!
