SONG
"Coming Home" for those of you who never heard it, is a non-political song about a father going off to war, and his final words of advice to his son. The father "comes home", but not in the way hoped for, and the son, feeling his father's spirit at the funeral, vows to keep the promises he made to his father.

Sixteen years, The boy held back his tears
His father held him tightly one last time
Wish I had an hour more,
But son, they've called me off to war,
Please listen to these words before I've gone
------- CHORUS --------
Carry on, And try to keep on standing,
Even if sometimes you're standing all alone
And son, be strong, Cause mother needs you here at home,
And you're the man I'm counting on, To keep her strong,
Until I've come back home
--------------------------------
Letters filled with heart-felt lines, He read each one a dozen times,
And held their pictures tightly as he slept
Then came the day, his fight was done, His helmet gently placed upon his gun,
His brothers bowed their heads and wept
(Chorus)
And at the funeral home, Amazing grace was all they sung
Put his hand upon his mom, And pulled her close, Close into his arms
And as the family cried, 21 bullets pierced the sky,
And when the noise had died, He felt his father's spirit, Deep inside
And a voice came through, That only he heard,
And he listened closely, To his father's final words
He said "Son, I've one request,
That you keep those promises, with all your will"
He said "Dad, you know I will"
I'll carry on, And I will keep on standing,
Even if sometimes, I'm standing all alone
And I'll be strong,
Cause mother needs me here at home,
And I'm the man you're counting on,
To keep her strong,
Now that you've come back home,
Now that you've come back home
