As a avid musician, possibly comparable to anyone on this site I believe I am not alone in wondering why it is so hard to form a band that has a goal to elevate the listeners experience and understanding of life. I have had difficulties and continue to, to form a band that is yes hard working, talented, skilled, all that jazz....that in my opinion is lacking from a gross majority of the music that is widely broadcasted on the radio in this day and age. I ask to those of whom take the time to reply, agree or disagree with me why is it so? I hope I do not come across pompous, however I feel these questions within me....well I am one to wonder.

I find the hardest thing about trying to form a band that works is that life seems to get in the way too much for older (OK, over 50) musicians. Everybody wants to play, but not commit to being available for gigs. The few who do take it seriously are already in demand and don't have the time to hook up with new players. Then you have the musicians who belong to several bands and the bookings are first-come-first-served so you are never quite sure if they are in or out for any particular booking. I find the only reliable band is a band of one. Can you tell I perform mainly as a solo act?

If it was easy it would not be worth the effort in doing it.
