lol, yeah drinking vodka like water will do that to ya................but, in all seriousness, from what Ive heard in the last couple years his voice has largely returned to form. Now 2003 seemed to be pretty rough...........maybe becase he hadnt toured and sang several hours a day for several years, i dont know.

I have heard and seen many lives clips of him from 2006 and 2007, he still seems out of whack at times. They even just delayed the release of the new album till September of this year I hear, I do not know if that is true or not though. Hopefully he gets his voice back, from what I heard he was trying to mimic his voice from the Justice days. I am praying, lol.

Go Hetfield!

This is kinda difficult because, no matter the popularity of the band, the guitarist gets a lot of the recognition anyway.

So, here's my first take......

Prince (as a guitarist)
Michael Timmins (Cowboy Junkies)
James Mankey (Concrete Blonde)
Billy Duffy (The Cult)
Porl Thompson (The Cure)
Johnny Marr (The Smiths) It's the layers...
Andy Summers (The Police)
Trey Spruance (Mr. Bungle)
Eldon Shamblin (The chord master!) Rolling Stone named him the best rhythm guitarist ever.

OMG, I like went totally 80's dude! (Except for Mr. Shamblin & Spruance)

Besides the aforementioned,
Jerry Miller of the late 60,s band "Moby Grape could rip some of the best blues to be heard at the time.

^ Yep Lindsay Buckingham and Prince (if all you listen to was Prince's solo on "let's go crazy" that's enough to seal the deal.)

My vote goes to..

David T. Chastain

He had several projects in the 80's & 90's

Chastain & CJSS

If you can still find a cassette tape of the album (never could find it on CD) "Chastain-Rulers Of The Wasteland", it will blow you away, the vocalist Leather Leone was a true female metal singer, the only way I can describe her is a Heavy Metal Janis Joplin or maybe a cross between Janis and Doro Pesch from Warlock.

I was able to find the "Chastain-7th Of Never" on CD last year and he rocks with the best of them, lotsa shredding solo's, with a very melodic approach not just mindless shredding

Check his new stuff out here... www.leviathanrecords.com/Attack.mp3

if that don't work go here... www.leviathanrecords.com/dtcctimp3.htm

I promise you won't be dissappointed...

When it comes to really good guitar players bumped down to the rhythm section, that distinction goes exclusively to "Noel Redding" He left the conscious world of Midgard back in 2003, and nobody seemed to notice. :( I have some of his guitar work on Vinyl an I can tell ya , it is most excellent indeed! I'm sure he's burnin' double leads with Jimi up there in Rock & Roll Heaven.
They Probably have Jaco on bass.

Rock In Peace Noel!
