Even if we understood what makes an immune system act perfectly, it will not help us that well. See, the problem here is, understanding something helps in its own right, but we have to understand the disease first. Cancer like many other diseases attack a persons immune system, especially leukemia, as we all know. But to stop the disease is the key, how do we stop it from assaulting the system.

Let us face it, what we understand is not what a biomedical engineer would understand, basically we are limited in comparison. What we know are the surface details, we have little understanding of what lies beneath. The problem is doctors, biologists, biomedical engineers, researchers, and others have us criticizing them and yelling at them to work harder. They are working very hard, trust me. These diseases are awfully complex, they do not work simply at all. Try understanding why Ebola (Zaire strain) does what it does, without dying just studying it (It is highly contagious). It is hard to fight something that has a mind of its own. If it was so easy to find a cure we would have it by now.

That kind of research relies on funding and the proper resources to get these things done, plus it relies on time. Time is an important piece to this puzzle, on the contrary time is running out for many of us.

There is not much I can actually say passed that on this subject, I must admit my knowledge of the in depth functions of cancer is quite minimal. I understand how it works only in the very most basic of ways. But I do know how Lupus works in and out, that disease I understand since my mother has it. I also understand heart conditions fairly well.

I would like nothing more than to give people a cure so children and adults alike do not have to be taken from this Earth by these horrible ailments.

I hope to do so someday.

Good luck and God bless to everyone, GuitarAnatomy.
