After getting 2-3 hours of sleep last night, the food is "Five for fighting". lol

Someone just offered me a cup of coffee and I almost passed out at the thought of it.

Let's see, that was quite the spread. I wasn't even thinking about eating, I was just thinking it would be a "liquid diet" and that turned out to be wrong.

Let's see I ate;

Chili 4 alarm peanuts...
Octopus
Clams/oysters?
kippers
Bacon wrapped shrimp
Buffalo chicken cheese dip
Brownies*
Chocolate chip cookies*
assorted chips 'n dips
some really funky Italian salami that smelled awful but tasted like bacon and Parmesan cheese. (wow that was good)(and weird)
Pickled eggs
hot peppers
hamburger
chicken cutlet with spaghetti
roast beef
fried rice
peas
milk
rice pilaf
sharp cheese
hot jack cheese
olives
pickled cauliflower
broccoli

I passed on the Champagne, I was drinking Modelo and knew that would be a "bad mix". In retrospect it was a good move to avoid ALL the hard liquor and champagne. Saved me from doing the "open eye spins"..lol

I did, however, fall prey to candy once back at the "dome".

I considered eating a Popsicle and realized that might not be a good idea unless I wanted to "get another look".

But I am alive and it was fun, glad that's just once a year..

Right before I left last night circa 5am, someone asked me "who won?..
As I sobered up around the bonfire, I mumbled "I don't know but it wasn't me".

Then the one woman slipped in the mud and fell flat on her rear end.
(Never wear heels to a party where you might be outside, regardless.)

I helped her up and we got her inside and cleaned up but I don't think I have laughed that hard in a decade.

So I ask you, "Who won" at your shindig? lol

Two rum n coke, made love to my wife, asleep by 21:00 . . . pouring rain kept the local artillery at bay and I slept like a stone.

OH my head hurt so bad this morning! I took 2 advil when we got home. the head is much better now! My daughter in law kept making these HUGE "Vegas Bombs" I remember doing a shot of 1800. I don't know how many beers I drank? Munched the whole time, played the heck out of the acoustic. When I started sluring the words to "Hotel California" about 2:30am I decided it was time to throw in the towel! Last thing I remember everyone was telling me to go upstairs and go to bed. I took the advise. I work at a University and have been off for 2 weeks and that doesn't come out of vacation time. They close the University down for Christmas break. I must say I am READY to go back to work in the morning even though I will probably be the only one there. Most folks take 3 vacation days and come back next Monday. I will be able to get more done without all the distractions. :D

3 Pacificos at dinner (chicken & cheese quesadillas), while my wife had 3 mango margaritas with her shrimp fajitas- she was hurting this morning, I wasn't, so I guess I won!

Stayed Home.

I learned why my neighbor build an upstairs back patio on top of the downstairs one... It turns out that our backyards have an excellent view of the fireworks displays from a local country club, a mile down the road.

WIned /dined my lady, relaxed in the whirlpool tub, watched movies , fell asleep.... Woke up feeling like a million bucks!

Hmmm, last year NYE I sat in with The Blues Doctors at the San Diego Convention Center. Fun night and I actually fooled a few into thinking I can still tear up the Blues.

This year I laid low NYE, had homemade soup and sandwiches with a glass of wine and watched a movie with my wife. At 6:30am on Jan 1, I met my brother and some friends in our cars for a spirited dawn assault on the back roads of SoCal with around 150 other drivers. Our own little new years day parade. We saw some pretty amazing custom and expensive cars and everyone was very friendly and respectful.

Met this guy who I had only heard of before and he drove the red and white car #277: http://vimeo.com/43035679

A very fun way to ring in the new year so I'll have to call it a win.

In the video Magnus is driving a lot of roads but the ones with ocean view were probably sections of PCH (HWY 1) and Mulholland.

For our NYD drive we went the other direction because PCH/Mulholland gets choked with 1000s of cyclists on New Years. We did Little Topanga Cyn, Sand Cyn, Sierra Hwy, Soledad Cyn, Angeles Forest, Angeles Crest Hwy. A very scenic drive with much less traffic.
