Good call on Gimme Shelter...Keef at his spookiest. Both the tremolo rhythm that starts and that other guitar noodling along with the oooohs are great. Gotta disagree about Smoke On The Water having no intro...4 bars of guitar alone before the organ joins in...that's a guitar intro in my book.

Ummmmm....mine's kinda obvious, but it is my favorite. "Voodoo Child (Slight Return)." The first five notes of Led Zep's "Since I've Been Loving You" are pretty sweet. The acoustic intro to "Crazy on You" by Heart. The tremolo guitar in the "Twin Peaks Theme."

More Guitar Intros ----

Day Tripper - The Beatles
The Oaf - Big Wreck
Redemption Song - Bob Marley
Killing an Arab - The Cure

For Bass Guitar ----

Three Days - Jane's Addiction
Peace Sells - Megadeth
(Anesthesia) Pulling Teeth - Metallica

OK, I'll stop there! :D

I'm surprised no one else has mentioned 'Day Tripper,' yet . . .

How about "The Chain" by Fleetwood Mac. Great great song. Also another great intro is "What if" by Creed.

Note: Sorry if I might have repeated something listed above, I have not gone over every song listed on here recently.

Peace out, GuitarAnatomy.
