I hate it when people talk themselves up in the third person. Totally declasse and totally insulting to think anyone reading the hype doesn't realize it's someone talking about themself.

Mike Nobody agrees.

Funny. All these people that are apparently complaining about "spam" are the ones who are not even taking the time to use the website forum in a positive way and guide musicians in terms of what they make, not what they do. This site is a page for musicians to share their stuff and get feedback, not take all this sh*t about how his stuff is around everywhere. Like is there a need? Yeah he's young, yeah he's not signed, but is there really any need to be so aggravating by bringing in all your little buds and hating on the guy? I'm sure as a musician, it's a struggle to get people to notice you and listen to your stuff. But saying all this stuff after one day of account activation is distressing. We are dearly sorry for spamming up your hotmails, gmails, whatever it might be that sends you emails when people post stuff, (if that even happens) and we assure you it won't be like that again.

well, you're using YOUR definitions of "using this website in a positive way". not sure if you've checked out any threads here at all....likely not and instead you just went into full on promo mode. if you had checked and read some stuff you'd see there is plenty sharing of one another's music, videos, and musical adventures and escapades. there are also plenty of discussions about music...hey, you might even start one yourself before jumping to conclusions.

This site is a page for musicians to share their stuff and get feedback, not take all this sh*t about how his stuff is around everywhere. Like is there a need?

see above.

is there a need? apparently so. i understand your zeal in trying to get the word out but there is something called decorum and good taste. maybe you'll learn something from getting your sh*t jumped as you did. maybe you won't.

I'm sure as a musician, it's a struggle to get people to notice you and listen to your stuff. But saying all this stuff after one day of account activation is distressing.

of course it's a struggle but as was pointed above.....looking for "exposure" on a music forum is a silly notion and a futile endeavor at best.

This is where you are getting all screwed up.. You didn't post and ask anyone for advice or opinions! You spammed the forum, clearly and openly, looking to promote yourself, which is exactly what any musician forum is NOT.

Hey, you are young and inexperienced, and I'm sure you got stars in your eyes and all that, but just stop arguing with everyone and accept that you did something foolish and were called out on it.

We've all swallowed some pride here in one argument, discussion, or another. You will need super-thick skin if you want to survive in the music business, and your responses so far don't look good in that department.

So, hey- buck up, admit to being stupid, apologize, and then ASK for advice on how to promote yourself properly, and maybe someone here will be more inclined to respond favorably and offer some useful information.

If you are supposed to be the promotional representative for this artist, then you do him a great dis-service by this inept and misguided attempt at publicity ... you might do well to view these chiding comments as seeking to guide you toward more effective advertising venues. If you are acting in a professional capacity ... as in accepting payment for your promotional efforts on this artists behalf ... then you deserve even more contempt for committing such an unprofessional beginners blunder of spamming musician forums. Spamming in this case is posting without any other interaction with the forum participants. You will find that most active forums on the internet will be found to be this way.

+1 (2nded), PaperDog speaks the truth in plain terms that even the child can understand but evidently not the gent from "Ottsville".

(I just naturally thought everyone understood that concept.)

The intention was not to offend or annoy any of you musicians, rather it was to showcase the music of this artist. We are deeply sorry if it affected you in any way and we will take it into consideration for next time. We have talked to the artist as well and he is deeply sorry for any inconvenience. He does intend to get some proper feedback from some of you though as he still wants to use this website to his benefit and to ours. So if some of you shall take this apology and share your opinions on this artist and ways to improve, it would be highly appreciated.

...Are you his Mother ? Not that that would be horrible but what Vinny says is absolutely applicable and Planet Guy speaks some wise words as well. Do not be a "victim of the "Hype" of what the Illusion is in the Music Business...it is as false as Obama's Birth Certificate.

This Forum is unique and that is because those on it are unique ... every one of them ... at least those that participate and stay. It is in some ways a microcosm of reality ...not of the false "Music Business". Facades here are used as toilet paper. At the same time no one wants to see a child abused or be squashed. Engage and lose the sales pitch.

No one that I know would refuse a heartfelt apology from whomever.

I do find it oddly insolent that his "mouthpiece" is the one giving the apology.

"Just who did this to begin with>? That's who needs to apologize, else it's worth nothing".

Vamp is right.. It's like his mother is taking his hand to make him return "stolen candy" and the grocer is unsure how to proceed.

To: Chief Engineer Scott,

This is a message from the artist:

Hey man, I'm sorry for all this commotion and stuff that's going on. I should have apologized to all of you directly but the team did it on behalf with a message from me. Well, this is direct now. I understand where all of you are coming from, and we shouldn't have done this from the start rather taken it slowly. Well, everyone makes mistakes and I guess the best thing to do is just learn from them. If you all could just accept this apology, it would be dearly grateful!

We'll accept the apology on the condition that you post your music with your representative on this site, and that you bring one (1) million dollars in un-marked quarters... You'll come alone ...or the Rep "gets it..."

Well seeing how it's just your first time offense, I think we can soften the terms a little bit here ... I'll settle for only $20,000 in pre 1964 quarters, even if they are marked, and I will not require that you post any of your music. :D
