Well, there's some details you got wrong, but the 2.5% tax is correct, to a point. The tax goes like this:

Less than $9,500 income = $0
$9,500 - $37,000 income = $695
$50,000 income = $1,000
$75,000 income = $1,600
$100,000 income = $2,250
$125,000 income = $2,900
$150,000 income = $3,500
$175,000 income = $4,100
$200,000 income = $4,700

However, you will no longer have insurance premiums, which my personal insurance currently costs me $400 a month (single coverage!!). I recently dropped it because I cannot afford it, nor can I afford to USE it. The deductibles, copays, etc.. have drained me and now I suffer with several medical conditions I cannot afford to treat. The irony is that before insurance, doctors and hospitals charged reasonable rates and one could afford a doctor visit out of pocket. Now.. you don't get the insurance company rates, you get your clock cleaned.

I agree Obamacare is a travesty on almost every level and am disappointed in the SCOTUS for failing to shoot it down, but they were correct that congress has the right to tax us, which is ultimately the correct intrepretation of the law (although I disagree with the law as well).

I've stated many times, correctly, that there is no evidence whatsoever of this propaganda. It was created by the NRA in a shameless attempt to scare gun owners into voting for romney. Every fact check site online has confirmed that it was a scare-tactic and has no factual basis. It's not on any living bill in congress, nor will it ever be. Even in the remote chance it was written into a bill, the republicans would fillibuster it and it would never see the light of day.

Mark my words ... you will find that Glen is correct regarding disarming the citizen/livestock. This was written into the "Plan" long before Romney was ever wanking. I searched google for any signs of a "transaction tax" related to the law and the only thing that came up were blogs and forums where people are repeating it, but there's no truth to it. I did find that there will also be a 3.8% real-estate xfer tax, but that's it.

You are repeating a false fact (most likely created to get a rise out of people just like you). In this age of misinformation, we will ALL find ourselves duped and repeating lies from time to time, but when we are introduced with evidence that outright disproves those facts, well then... you either man up and admit it, and just accept it into your world view (and let's face it, the truth here really isn't contradictory to your or my overall positions on obamacare)...

Far from the truth. John Roberts, traitor, changed the text in the obama-care law illegally. What was called a penalty throughout the law, was found to be illegal, so traitor John Roberts said ..Well penalty / tax, what's the difference here? (words to that effect) I'll just change the word penalty to tax and it will be legal.

That was in itself illegal. It is required by the Constitution that the whole thing be thrown out and given to congress to be re written and then be submitted to another vote. Constitutionally, only the congress can make the changes. The judge can only find it against the law and send it back, not interpret it and modify it. He had no authority to re write a single letter of the law, but only to rule whether or not it was legal.

Even worse than that, the health-care legality was to be argued against 5 points in the bill. The opposition was winning them.

The whole debate about whether it was legal to penalize citizens for something they didn't want to purchase was not even among the 5 contested points.

In other words, traitor Roberts pulled a rabbit out of his robe at the last minute. Why is a really big question since he was for repealing it until the last minute. I think the Chicago mob got to him.

So traitor Roberts essentially went against the constitution and re wrote it himself. Highly illegal.

I never looked into it in enough depth to confirm or deny, only enough to see that calling it a tax was in fact legal. How the word "tax" came into play is what you are discussing, which I wish I had the time to look into, but one can't know everything about everything...

I'm sure some people have full time jobs where they are charged with doing nothing more than interpreting that frickin law. I did happen onto an article that discusses in great length how that bill was crafted, and by who, and how the public option was taken off the table so quickly.

Now with the renegade decision they can tax us for anything and everything and get away with it. John roberts traitor in robes. For instance, if the government mandated that you purchase gum at your local store and you don't want gum, the owner can say OK That will be a $2.00 tax for not buying gum, even if the gum only cost $100. Get it? He not only violated the constitution but he allowed politicians to add surcharge taxes, and so called penalty taxes to anything and everything on the face of this earth. Thus the reason that all these weird taxes are showing up under the guise of so called health care... which seems to be doing everything buy giving care to many groups of people.
